Thanks for doing this tutorial, I have always wanted to have a go at computer programming and projects but never had the guts to do so as I am 61 years old and dyslexic , I have problems spelling IT never mind doing it, but now feel it is time to have a go, so Raspberry Pi added to Christmas wish list.

Dude (and I mean that with great respect) you are the man. I started out back in the 70's with the TRS80 then the TI 99/4a from the I went to the Ohio Scientific unit with the 3 processors (6505 / 6800 / Z80) with a Winchester 74meg hard drive that was bigger than a dell rack mount blade server. I remember the lights dimming when I power it on. Then of course the IBM PC (win95) up to now the Win 10. I've learned programing in all those CPU so when I bought the first Rasp for so reason I was lost nothing seem to work right from download to installing. 67 years old and this You Tube was a great answer to understanding the process. Thank you so much. I'm big into Hydroponics and now I think I can use the Rasp to help with my system. Ordering the Canakit and the Ultimate Starter Kit.

I must say, This is the most detailed explanation about raspberry Pi I have seen on UKposts. I was pretty confused about many things in raspberry Pi before watching this video and it has cleared most of my doubts. This is pretty under rated video and every raspberry Pi starter must watch this before u start working. Thanks for detailed explanation.

Thanks. Just saw Getting Started With The Raspberry Pi 4 - Use It As A Linux PC by ETA PRIME and that intrigued me so I came here. Had heard nothing of these since the first one yers ago. I am not a tech' savvy user, but I enjoyed your video, and I think it's very cool that people can learn all about this stuff at a relatively very low cost by getting one of these. As someone who uses his computer just to use the 'net and make activities for the classroom with regular office software, one of these would be perfectly enough for me if my current computer died again and could not be brought back to life. The fact that we can now get a computer to plug into our monitor, keyboard and mouse and get set up for so little money and at so low a cost astounds me.

The "servo" you was turning is a potentiometer, a variable resistor. A servo is a device that normally physically controls something and provides feedback. An example would be computer remotely opening/closing a valve in a factory by signalling a servo called a MOV (Motor Operated Valve). The MOV would provide feedback to inform the computer how much the valve is opened. Did enjoy your video; was looking or a video to recommend to a teen interested in the Pi.

Chris, This was a break from the usual unifi stuff I come here for but was a very good introduction to the pi. I have been using them for various things since the early days but I have no coding skills as such. Would love to see some examples of how you use these to do monitoring or maybe even replacement of cloudkeys etc. Closest I have come to using these for network monitoring was to have one of this display a web page on a monitor from a remote network monitor or weather map. These do make it very easy to have 16 monitors on the wall watching a large corporate network. Thanks for the video.

Hello, there is one big moment, because of which I spent few days trying to make it work: if you have SD card with size more then 32 gb, SD card Formatter tool will format it as exFAT, but Raspberry can understand just FAT32/FAT16. When you download NOOBs, there is READ ME, there is provided instruction for case when SD card is over 32 GB size. Please, please, please tell us more about the way you use Raspberry pi as monitoring tool for your /clients network.
