Finally an actually useful video. No other videos have mentioned how to get the operating system into the RPi. I ordered it on Amazon based on a recommendation from a friend. Did not even know there is a website at the time. This video made it all clear! Danke shoen!

Thanks. Helped me a lot. Only issue I had was using a USB power supply with not enough output voltage. Changed the USB power supply and all was good.

normally usb provides 3.5 to 5 volts which are enough to run small machines but if you attached some mechanical devices with, then you provide external power source such as battery bank

Read up on the Raspberry Pi and have been intrigued by the project for a while. Recently I decided I needed to get separate hardware for my office and web browsing tasks so I could free up my rather expensive PC gaming rig to do nothing but game. At first I thought about just buying a cheap used Dell office PC but then I remembered the Raspberry Pi and I realized this was a perfect use for it... has all the features I could want for browsing and office tasks and it doesn't take up desk space like a typical PC does. Ordered a nice complete desktop kit with the Pi 4B - 4gb ram version and it came in the other day. Only issue is this... I've never used a Pi and have minimal experience tinkering with Linux based systems. Was cool to find your video on setting up a Pi. Much more simple than I expected it to be. Thanks for the great and helpful video!
@MakeUseOf4 роки тому
Even for simple web browsing tasks, the Pi is woefully underpowered. I'd recommend CloudReady / Chrome OS running on any old laptop/throwaway desktop. Absolutely flies.

Great explanation, just a note that you must format the disk before copying the files to it and make sure they are in the primary directory, not a sub-directory. The Pi needs to see them upon start up.
