I played at the University of Colorado back in the late 80s when we were actually good. Every year I looked at the schedule and Dread playing Iowa State because they would bring it! it didn't matter if they were 1 & 7, you were going to be really sore the next day. I'm so excited to see their success

It doesn't matter about how elite/well known your program is, it's hard to get elite recruits to any college in the Midwest that doesn't have a National Championship within the past 25ish years. Recruiting's been hard for Iowa for the longest time and it will be for ISU as well.

I'm very proud of Iowa st. They play a type of football that keeps you wanting to see them win. I hope Matt stays but it would be foolish not to have a back up plan. This is a business. They can make it to the playoffs it will take some lucky breaks to get there.

@@cesarreyes809 a 3 star prospect is still really good or at least supposed to be. The star system IMO has really watered down. It kinda started when I was in high school (circa 2014) and its gotten a bit worse. There are guys who are so called 5 star recruits who would probably 2-3 star if they played in like 2006 or something. They hand out star ratings like jokes. So maybe a 3 star player isn't really that good.

Im an iowa st fan and honestly i rather be on the outside of the playoff even if we went undefeated we wouldnt stand a chance against the Alabamas or the clemsons. Now that being said next years team has a ton of potential. Everyone u can think of is currently returning besides for jaquan baily this team is going to be really good next year. (Not playoff level tho)

This whole turning low star recruits into NFL players has been going on for a long time with Iowa as well. Both ISU and Iowa are pretty much equals now. Both are producing NFL talent, both are playing very close games against the conference's top competition (and winning a few), and both have great coaches! Looking forward to many more non-COVID-19 cancelled Cy-Hawk games!
