She's hit the nail on the head with her analysis of how people list your weight and looks as such a high achievement. I've started two successful businesses from nothing and my family and friends have never commented on what an achievement that is.. If I lose weight, or wear something nice, or do my makeup well they rave about how amazing it is - as women our worth is very rarely valued as our character, intelligence or hard work.

Most of the more severe illnesses happen to people by an upsetting event happening in their lives that takes them by surprise, unexpectedly, impacting first in the brain, then in the corresponding organ which that part of the brain controls. The end of WWI had absolutely everything to do with the Flu and lung TB outbreak that occurred killing millions. In nature, the biological conflict linked with a territorial fear (just what it means-a fear in your territory, your home, your community, etc.) is a widening of the bronchia (tissue loss). Your body attempts to widen your bronchia in order to allow more air into your lungs to give you more strength and energy to fight to keep your territory safe. Stay with me.......The biological conflict linked with a death fright impacts the lungs. The lungs attempt to grow larger in order to allow more air in because breath equals life, as we all know. No breath equals death. Why are so many people across the world suddenly having their appendix removed? The appendix is associated with “being in fear for one’s life”. The HEALING phase is the rupture/inflammation. While you are in the fear or death fright conflict, you notice no symptoms of “disease”, except you have cold hands, cold feet, you can’t sleep, you awaken at 3 AM every night, you have little appetite. During the war, millions of people were in fear of the bombing of their homes and cities where the war was most active. Fearing for their lives, their loved ones in the war, their ability to survive. The food in the stores was sparse due to shortages. This lasted for 4 long years! The longer the conflict, the worse the healing phase. Within 2 weeks of the German Chancellor announcing the end of WWI, these millions of people ALL went into the healing phase all at the same time. It is during the healing phase that you experience symptoms of illness! What is the healing phase of the bronchia widening? Severe bronchitis, pneumonia. The body attempts to refill this lost tissue and you experience inflammation, fever, coughing, body aches, fatigue, etc. What is the healing phase of the extra lung tissue that grew? Decomposing of the tissue by TB bacteria and fungi. The symptoms of this healing phase are: severe coughing up of blood and tissue, fever, inflammation, severe mucous, body aches, fatigue. During this decomposing of the extra tissue (tumor), the body expels a lot of protein, and without replenishment, severe protein loss can result in death. Antibiotics did not exist yet. If TB bacteria does not exist in a person or they have been vaccinated against TB (big mistake), then the tumor will simply encapsulate and become dormant and not harm you. Who died during the Spanish Flu? Mainly the poor who could not afford to buy meat and proper nourishment, and the people who were directly impacted by the bombings and destruction of their homes. Millions of people suffered fear and death frights during the fighting of WWI, and millions of people all went into healing at the end of it. Not everyone was affected because not everyone suffered the same way. It’s not a “flu”, it’s not something you “catch”. It’s biological, meaningful, and unavoidable. One hundred years later, a Fear Campaign begins, using the media to spread it......

Rebel is one of my favourite actresses. I’ve also suffered from emotional eating. Growing up without my mum I found comfort in food. This went on for years and resulted in 30 kg weight gain. I started weights training and going to the gym as an outlet and became strong and sexy in my skin. I now help women process those emotions they’ve been eating and how to overcome them. If anyone reading that Is struggling, you’re not alone. You are worthy. You CAN DO THIS!

To be fair, as a millionaire you have a much easier time achieving what she did. Can hire a cook, to ear delicious but super healthy stuff. Can afford the most expensive but healthy ingredients. Can afford and have the time to set up a customized work out and diet routine. The list goes on. The average person doesn’t have that privilege. Doesn’t take away from her accomplishment though, since she first had to earn her wealth first, while sacrificing her youth and fertility.

Humble and genuine?? Did we Watch the same interview? Don’t get me wrong she sure is an inspiration and I echo all the warm sentiments Of the below and above comments about her journey to where she is…. But humble is not a quality that shone through even a second of this interview. Not with standing all these positive comments, she didn’t let the interviewer finish a single question she barely even let her get to the question itself and as much as she absolutely deserves all the praise she’s getting here in his comments, but during the interview, the amount of times she made me cringe giving herself (accurate) praise. So… accomplished? Yes! Inspirational? Absolutely to some! … but humble?? Hardly! One of the things that happens when you take ownership of your health and get to the root of the reason why you developed bad, unhealthy habits, is it affects and reflects on every single aspect of your life. I believe a person thinks they look better than ever before (like Rebel said) because they feel better than ever before. She is on a journey of truly embracing what it means to love, like, and accept yourself; to feel grateful for who you are and not want to be someone else. It took me 33 years and I'm still working on it but it is liberating and fantastic to love yourself and even love and feel compassion for who you were before. One big discovery I've made in my life is that you don't learn to love yourself because you've lost weight, you start changing your health/weight BECAUSE you learn to love yourself. You even open the door also for other people to love you as you are because you give yourself total permission to be you. Because you like yourself. I'd even add that it's almost impossible to not want to share that with people because you see them hurting for not having figured out what you have.
@The.Caroline

I love her! This was a great interview. Also fully agree with everything she said about weight loss. People treat you so differently when you're skinny/normal vs overweight. It's a shame, because it really confirms the fear that a lot of people have that if they don't look a certain way, they're not as "important". When I was at my skinniest, people were so kind to me. I got better customer service in stores for example. I don't judge people by their looks, and I think my experience gives me a great perspective and extra motivation to try to be kind to everyone I meet no matter who they are.

Rebel Wilson is a global treasure and one of many female examples who are viewed only from the perspective of her physical being - fat, gorgeous, etc. Yet this interview unveils a complex and thoughtful being. I have to wonder - would it have been done had she not had her “year of health”? Would BBC have had the interview? Would viewers have taken the time to hear the intellect, the phenomenal being that exists within a larger body? Sadly, as a society we’ve been biased to determine the value of others initially through the visual.

Thank you, I was wondering the same thing, and honestly, it doesn't seem like anyone was interested in what she had to say or her intelect when she was still fat. It's basically saying that your only niche, when you're fat, is being funny. Think about it. The few fat actors and actresses you know are comedians. I am a fat girl, so no big discovery for me, but think of what it says to all of us out there : Your only worth is to make the rest of us laugh. We will accept you as an intelligent being, as an equal, only when you lose the weight. This is so heartbreaking.

She is such an inteligent woman and funny. I really loved that her messsge about the body transformation is just about health and not image. Thats the message that needs to be spread
