I thought, considering the tooling that you had at hand, you did a very fine job in restoring this furrowing machine to its original condition. However, if you don't mind the suggestion...... Tape or plug up all bearing bores before painting. Also, tape the opening to the fuel tank as well. The idea is to keep paint out of areas that it doesn't belong.

Simply mammoth task, amazing restoration job, must have taken ages. . 👍👍

(Didn’t see him grind the spot to be welded, clean) You, however don’t receive any points for the steel tank. (Too easy) but a very good weld on that steel tank. We’ll give ya an “atta-boy”

Lovely work but was there a large crack on the end of the gear box which looked like a casting so bracing rather than welding which is not so strong?

That looks like a beast to handle.

A few friendly recommendations; Make yourself sets of punches and chisels from some scrap. It'll make your work quicker and it will look more professional. It is important to use grease and oil when assembling bearings, and installing shafts into bushings. Make use of an anvil more often when forming metal. Cement and sidewalk tiles are ok but look amateur. Try to find someone who will let you use sand blasting equipment. You just need to provide the sand. Never place machined parts directly on metal and hit them, like the piston you worked on. Take your good work to the next level.

Good work, restoring old tractor, grease on some of those parts/ bolts, keep rust away. Good fabrication on parts broken. Use real cotter pins!

That was quite the restoration project. My advise would be to follow the advise others have suggested in their posting. Hitting bearings and shafts just made me cringe. Yes, use non metal hammers! Carbon or hard wood Mallets is the best. That was a lot of work...but an outstanding restoration you all. Keep it up! Thank you for the video!

Every time I watch one of these " restoration videos," I think commenting about all the things that should have been done that weren't or are done wrong during the video . But then I remember it's an internet video. The video itself will generate far more revenue than the machine in question is worth so with the proceeds from the video they can go out and buy a brand new machine. Under these parameters the videos is fine it does the intended job he makes money . So I don't think I say anything about all the errors .

im no welding expert but arent you meant to drill holes on the start/end point of the cracks then grind the crack itself to get better penetration, i also would have checked inside the take with a camera/ight to see how far the welds have penetrated.

You need a OG Mamasan or Papasan to run that old school beast. Great rescue, well done!

Is it an early Kubota from the late 1960s? Very similar to my kf tiller fitted with a KNDR70 motor.

I think in my younger days, I could have removed the nuts and bolts, though in my older days I KNOW I could not have put it together again! Well done, young sir.

Fun to watch the restoration. Perhaps applying a better way to do the valves as the exercise with the hand drill is not the best way to bring valves in good shape.

Apparently it is their style to make everything look, “almost” 5 more minutes with the wire wheel, or the grinder. A little time with some sand paper, clean gloves on final assembly, so there is not oily smudges, a little care tightening bolts so the wrench does not scratch the paint. Or is it the style, culture, this is the way to tell buyer, this is repaired old stuff?

I would like to know what kind of tractor that was? The M on the side of the engine looks like the Merry company that made rotor tillers, but the other name on the green parts are not familiar. I could not find the Tengle brand in an internet search.

Cheaper just to fix up the old equipment it's still good still got a few more miles on it call Taylor fixed all equipment up all the time it's always something that needs to be fixed love pictures and still has a few more miles today

Polish the plow shear and the mow board. Hard surfaces the back of the plow shear and it will last forever.
