The longest run in Bill's last special was the Hitler/Stalin bit. Now, it's always hard to tell with really good comics how much of their bits come from an honest place as opposed to a purely comedic place. I think there's _some_ genuine puzzlement on Bill's part when it comes to Stalin's 'numbers'. It's history, so there's nothing black and white about it, even as comparatively recently as Hitler & Stalin. But we can definitely point to reasons why Hitler gets more heat. First, the 6-9m is just the number specifically targeted for extermination. He gets the blame for a LOT more than just those marked for death, but, that idea of marking people for death...that plays into his stats & heat. Another is very much in line with the way we are now. If ISIS claims a terrorist act in Paris, that gets play all around the western hemisphere. We'll dim lights and put tricolour filters on our FB profile photos. But if ISIS _do_ kill 500 people in Yemen or Mauritania, we don't give a fuck. Same with Stalin.

Not trying to be a jerk about this, cardinals are a great team, its just an incredibly stupid comparison, and he's a sox fan (well all around boston sports fan) so it wasn't about promoting cardinals, it was about diminishing yankees. You can take 5 pats superbowls, still not close to green bay or pitrsburgh, pittsburgh has more, greenbay good for longer stretch than 15 years, giants more historical teams, dallas and niners same. There is no comparison to yankees. They are cardinals...and red sox...and giants...combined.
