I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes...

Not young anymore, but V. website is very hard to navigate compared to R. or even Fidelity. As I remember, their funds were pushed as first option as I tried to buy an individual stock. Such a turn off.

Various credit cards give 2x on everything and some qualifiers give you up to 5x with no annual fee. RH 3% is good, but with the annual fee disguised as Gold Member which is $50 a year, this 3% doesn’t seem fabulous unless you are a big spender, but I don’t think RH will give you a higher than $10k credit line.

It happened because they are required to have a certain amount of cash on hand, and when so many people are buying and selling a security so much it takes a couple days to settle which means they didn't have enough cash on hand to support future trades.

@@DeezNuts-pq9rbNo, it Fidelity doesn’t. They (through an intermediary) offer 2%. Still quite solid, and I’ve stuck with it for most of my spending. This has me considering. I happen to spend a lot (big family and work), but also don’t carry a balance. No one that I am aware of would offer better than this. This only question I have is-do I trust the company enough. I haven’t looked closely at the Gold membership requirements.
