Some Federer haters are always pointing out that Federer won 4 of his slams against guys that have never won a slam. But Nadal won 7 slams against six guys that have never won a slam: once to Puerta,Soderling,Berdych,D.Ferrer and Anderson.And Twice to thiem

WARRIOR FIGHTER PAHLAWAN Using “he didn’t beat Rafa at the FO” is so irrelevant lol. There is no shame in not being able to beat Rafa at RG, it’s the hardest task in tennis history. Only 1 guy ever has done it for real, & the other guy did it in Nadal’s worst year of his career. Beating Nadal in 2015 was like beating Fed in 2013 or Novak in 2017, it didn’t really count as much because they were all shells of themselves.

Still can’t believe he didn’t win after serving and acting so well throughout the match but couldn’t do it on those two match points . Would have been a great story 37 years old and 38 next month beating both Rafa and Novak to get his 9th Wimbledon and 21 st slam.

lambey 611 yeah for sure that would have been the ultimate accomplishment for Fed. I couldn’t stop thinking how beautiful a story that would have been. None of them have beaten the other two to win a slam and at this age and given his “underdog” status against both would have been just too beautiful I guess..? Well at least we know now that he’s still gonna content a few more slams and I’m sure he’ll get one or two more if he keeps playing like that. Those nerves just got him in the final set. That was hectic!

Tremayn Lesar Both Nadal and Djokovic have beaten the other two of the big 3 to win a slam multiple times. Federer hasn’t done it yet though so it would’ve been cool for him to get his first time here

Novak beat the 2 of them back to back to win the USO 2011. Nadal I can’t recall him beating the other 2 back to back to win something but it probably has happened at the FO if I had to guess. This one would’ve been the cherry on top for Fed, his ultimate Wimbledon trophy. He was just one ace away from it too. It’ll take me a long time to get over this loss.

ZAGOR TE-NAY, Because aside from h2h’s he doesn’t lead any stats. And the h2h’s are misleading because he only got ahead in both because he is 6 years younger than Roger and he played injured Rafa 10 times. Prime Roger and Rafa bullied him on court.

He’s already been overtaken on the H2h’s but he’s still seen as the best player ever. Novak can beat Roger as much as he likes, but it don’t matter. Federer played the tournament and final like a genius. I can't believe he lost to Djokovic. Something went off for Federer in the last few games. Federer started to make unforced errors. Don't know why. But I think this is a case of Federer loosing rather than Djokovic winning.

More like the fatigue was too much for him to deal with...he did well to keep serve till the tiebreak especially after losing those championship points but it was too tough to keep up with djokovic at the end.

He had a tougher route to the final than Djokovic, who didn't play a top 10 player until the final. Federer dominated the match against Djokovic, hitting far more winners, aces, and breaking Djokovic seven times. Just can't hold his nerve during the tie-breaks.

It's taken a while but I am recovering from the strange and painful final. I feel that Fed has more him than we think. It'll hurt no doubt although he's still right up there in the mix to add more GS title. God, if he can manage to win another, whereever that may be, it will be so bittersweet and a homage to his legendary legacy filled with humanly near misses along with unbelievable heights.

This wonderful human being is the personification of grace and elegance. And for all his incredible, swashbuckling and dominating victories, to me he is somehow even more beautiful in defeat. I'm talking particularly of 2008 and this year at Wimbledon. Because he never deviates from his endeavour and despite his extraordinary talent, even Roger will lose. Even he will have crushing disappointments. And he'll accept them with humility, as hard as that is. And he'll move on. And he'll go again. He shows us life. He's an artist in the theatre of tennis. He's the best of us.

@Thomas Grange Djokovic trailed Fed on every statistical category. 37 yo Fed won his sets comfortably and even had multiple championship points on his serve. On the contrary, Djokovic won his 3 sets narrowly (all of them on tiebreaks) and only broke Fed once. Fed was by far the best player, he just choked on many occassions.

I bet every Roger fan would say the same. The other day I met a stranger who’s a Federer fan. We both chose not to speak about the final silently signalling each other. We understand a lot as fans. Isn’t it?

I think 2019 might have been one of his best Wimbledon campaigns. He thought he played unbeliveably well. Seven superb matches.

A heartbreak for fed in the final. He is the best in final. He well deserves title. Because he played the whole tournament with a brilliant tennis. His top 10 points are the best point of this Wimbledon. Unfortunately he loses the final. But it is Roger Federer. He will come back very strongly and win more majors in the future. Best wishes for him.
