The high heels, the rosy on her cheeks, walking the streets a thousand times, she was a hooker...neither her nor screech had a good childhood. Edit: Ah, you got there eventually after in the end, my bad. Figured you'd have brought that up during the first time around XD

Violet's tale happened in 2005 (two zero zero five) and Jenny and Screech's tale happened in 2019, 14 years later. Twins separated at birth and then Screech ends up killing his twin without knowing she existed. Jenny inherited her mother's silence and Screech inherited his father's violence. Jenny knew the streets and walked them in high heels which tells you a bit about her and what she became. Another interesting part is when he knocks on his friend Patrick's door and he wasn't there and then calls his girlfriend who said she was busy was because they were actually together behind his back. He made some Instagram stories to fill in the gaps. It's a story of how history repeats and how tragedy follows through generations. He's such an amazing storyteller. He calls his musical genre "Bardcore" which is perfect. He's a modern day minstrel or bard...

Tho I was aware of all of those details (many ppl are not) this is the best concise written summary I've seen. Also, the high heels throw a lot of ppl off from realizing that Jenny was only 14 years old, as she was 14 year old Screech's twin sister. This trilogy/song hits so heavy & so close to home, as my birthmother was also SA/violently abused and I was given up for adoption at birth, never knowing my birthmother and also never knowing or realizing I had a birth sister, until over 40 years later.

I (61) just discovered Ren via seeing "Hi Ren" just under two weeks ago. That video blew me away and I shared and recommended it a "Gesamtkunstwerk" since it entails everything (lyrics, music acting and cinematography) at least 30 times, the video and the artist are that important. I cannot get enough of Ren. I became a Ren-dear: I watched all his videos and listend to all his songs (some don't have videos) on Spotify. You can just listen to his songs which is sufficient to admire him and his art, but you miss out on his acting and the masterful cinematography of his friend Sam.

In Jenny’s tale, after Screech reached for his Knife in the sheath, you paused mid verse then didn’t rewind back a few seconds, I think this is why you missed the reason she was lying on the floor: “he swung possessed with the devil in his chest and the statue she was turned to butter in a breath”, meaning he quickly cut her down. She found someplace to sleep (eternal sleep) and she escaped, but not in the way she wanted (escaped in death).

@@AnthonyLauder yes. I get the feeling that she was possibly a prostitute as well. Whether she wanted to escape that life as well as where she lived depends on the interpretation. But either way, her escape in the end wasn’t what she intended.

I'm a 54-year-old avowed metalhead who's seen some sh*t, but that last line in Violet's Tale was a punch to my gut the first time I heard it. Same! Hated Rap my whole life! Until Ren! Imo... it's cause Ren is so intelligent... lyrically pertinent in his songs! That I believe, is the reason most Rappers don't like him, cause they don't have the grasp of the english language, to know or understand, the meanings in his lyrics! I've seen countless reactions from so called rappers/reactors... who don't know the meaning of what I call basic words! Missing the main meaning of his stories! As an intelligent Rapper today... it's gonna make alot of uneducated people dislike him for that reason alone... instead of looking up the meaning of words... they just dismiss him as another bad White Rapper! Sad really!

That Jenny, in the beginning, who we later find out to be the daughter of Violet, stays still as a statue, when Violet stays silent. So much juxtaposition between the tales, when you listen back a few times. A storyteller is Ren, whether by rap or by rhyme.

Ren did an interview where he spoke on the task of entertaining people who were simultaneously desisitized and ultra sensitized. We are very desensitized to violence and another reactor made a very good guess that this was Rens way of making us face it for just a moment, what it really is. When he stands from the hospital bed and pauses to shake himself, it's looks like he's preparing to be the entertainer but knowing how bad it will be. I've wondered how he was able to portray such an accurate performance of such situations- did he read survivor stories, does he have friends who have been through it, has he been through it himself? Because the details there were startling.... There's nothing like him that I know of. His depth and ability seem to never end. You in particular would probably like his Big Push covers, the vocals he puts out are just ridiculous. But also Money Game 1& 2- this man has conviction like no other. His passionate stance on the way greed is destroying our world and his focus on reminding us that we are all a part of it whether we know it or not, jeeeebus. I really can't understand how this man has been overlooked for so long, that in itself is heartbreaking 💔 If you needed proof that our money driven systems really just want us bobbing our heads to cardi b while they burn the world down behind us, here it is. THIS should have been played at the Grammys. Every year. Just so we don't forget what art looks like, we humans are forgetful like that.......

@@GhostWatcher2024 It was more the calling Violet a fckjng slut, which could have been just to fit the ryhme but slut and whore are two of the most commonly used slurs when abusive men get angry. Like their first thing is always to try to down grade the women verbally, make her appear as shitty as they feel. Then there was the way she pretended to sleep when he came in. Again, could have just been coincidence but this is a tactic I think most abused women use. Treat the mfer like a T-Rex, if I don't move he might not notice me or just get distracted and walk away from me. I've done it. I luckily left that relationship before it became physically abusive but I remember tucking myself into the corner of our room and pretending to read when he would come in, hoping he would just walk back out if I stayed quiet and still. He would also accuse me of lying all the time, cheating (why you such a little liar?) even though my world revolved around him. My life was work, home, cleaning, cooking and somehow he still fabricated this crazy idea that I was just using him. Found out later that's HIS game, using women for money and then just going psycho on them. He got me to pay $2000 of his court shit but I still consider it a bargain considering what I escaped. Just feels like he isn't just guessing at how those fateful moments go down.....

This trilogy/song hits so hard & so close to home, as my birthmother was also SA/violently abused and I was given up for adoption at birth, never knowing my birthmother and also never knowing or realizing I had a sister, until over 45 years later. When I finally did meet my sister we were both shocked to learn we hung out in the exact same neighborhood and we likely saw each other in passing, yet totally unaware we were brother & sister. Ren even far surpasses the 'one of a million' category of talent/creativity qualities and all of his work is simply jaw-dropping.

Same here. Proves what Rosalie stated earlier about the ripple effect, It happened when our eyes welled up of what had just happened in dismay. Heart strings, tear jerkers heck I don’t know what you call this very raw emotional state. Shockified, petrified and mortified; pleading feeling within myself with feeling of sorrow; pleading don’t let this happen! I’m still mortified, horrified half past midnight I’m afraid to sleep after watching this. I’m having nightmares of imaginary in my head and feel completely sick to my stomach thinking about the blade and the teeth on a knife and the violence, messed up lives gone in a flash. Our society is broken. What does it take to SAVE A LIFE? I think of another story to long to mention here but it’s about ironicly a girl named Jenny fighting drug addiction. Her story is on line; you can search under “To Write LOVE ON HER ARMS. I bought the tshirt 15-20 years ago and still have it to remind myself to have empathy for people like Jenny because the last thing they need is criticism when they are trying to fight their demons.

This was a great reaction and analysis. This one shows how much Ren is like a modern bard with how he’s able to be poetic with guitar accompaniment and perform theatrically in these videos and songs as the sole performer. He’s so captivating and able to pull us into the depths of the stories he tells and feel the profound meaning of his message. His stories and lyrics are also very relatable and with how things are in the world today, this is refreshing to hear art like this that has powerful meanings. I love his talent with the guitar. At the beginning of Violet’s tale, the second melody gave me a medieval vibe like you’d hear is a troupe or tavern as a bard is preparing the audience for the story he’s about to tell. Also in Screech’s tale, after the guitar intro, when he starts singing, the music almost didn’t sound like it was a guitar to me the first time I heard it. Almost sound like it was coming fome a keyboard synthesizer. It’s amazing his skill with the guitar and how versatile he is with an acoustic/classical guitar.

As a backdrop to this. The UK is suffering from an almost epidemic of knife crime, and London is particularly bad. There are so many teens out there right now carrying knives. It is a terrible situation. I have been looking forwards to seeing you react to these tales. Ren's ability to create stories with all the tools available to him is remarkable. This is a modern day Shakesperian tragedy, in a terrifyingly real setting, told by a modern day bard. Jenny, quiet and still like her mother, Screech agressive and short temperd like his father - traits crossing generations but who knew? Another astonishing fact. All 3 tales were recorded in one take. And live. I have been on this crazy spinning rock for over half a century, but I have never in my life seen a tallent like Ren! Amazing. Great reaction. You brought some interesting new perspectives which I enjoyed.

You could even take it back one more generation. Violets dad was violent, abusing her and her mom stayed silent, even though she knew what he was doing.

Almost like all those gun control laws and bans didn't do anything to stop violent crime... hmm. I'll take the hate for saying this, I just wanted to point that out.
@MattDavey68
@MattDavey68 Рік тому
@@noodles7157 No hate. You are just wrong. I mean we had 1 mass shooting. We banned guns. We have never had another mass shooting. It is pretty plain to see. And yes there is a knife crime problem, but it is among the youths. Not accross the board like with guns. 2022 saw 11,517 knife crime reports in the UK (Not just deaths, over all crime rate), and 49,000 gun deaths in the US. I just wanted to point that out.
@noodles7157
@noodles7157 Рік тому
@@MattDavey68 have you taken into account the total population in the UK vs the total population in the US? Bc that matters. The UK pop. In 2022 was 67,500,000 and the USA pop. Was 338,000,000. That is a bit over 5 times the people in the UK. When taken into account that means there was more knife violence per person in the UK than gun violence per person in the US. People will do evil things no matter the tool they use. Gun violence statistics also most of the time include suicides for whatever reason. Suicides by gun account for 54% of gun deaths in 2022. Again, Im not trying to be aggressive.

Hi! I'm from Czech republic. I watched this video beforehand and after that I was watching some reactions, and when Violet's tale was ending I knew, that you feel it coming. That crazy ending twist. And to be honest I was in therapeutic community to cure myself from PC games addiction, and as you said it wasn't easy in any way. First I was in denial, because I was sent there by my mom, but after some time I've opened my eyes, and saw the problem at hand. Truth is, that I didn't made it to this day without any problem, but I'm trying, and I know, that it will stay with me for rest of my life.

Hallo/ Hola/ Hello Rosalie, I've been waiting patiently for you to do more ren reactions I had suggested a few (including this) in a past comment and wanted you to do this. I'm writing this midway through your analysis so sorry I paused your beautiful soul hehe. I just wanted to add my two cents (also if you have the same thoughts and I just haven't listed them yet I'm sorry). So here it is: 1. I found it very interesting how jenny inherited her mother's Flight/Flight/Freeze response. Violet (V) " was a silent girl" Jenny (J) "Jenny freezes, statue-like, a lady-shaped stalactite Fear like liquid nitrogen in the dark night, She tried to find the strength to move But stayed as still as a statue in high-heeled shoes" Where screech (S) seemingly inherited his father's predisposition for violence and anger. *I tried to convey my meaning here but my dyslexia sometimes makes it hard to get my thoughts down using the proper words. I hope you understand what I am trying to say. The line about J I just quoted blew me away "Lady-shaped stalactite" I mean WOW! THE TALES are such a sad reality of a society where children, adults and the elderly abuse (oh and animals) does occur. I used to work work with the elderly up until my botched spinal surgery left me disabled. I'm currently looking into opportunities to volunteer with one or more of these groups but I am not physically well enough, so might be with animals for the time being and maybe try and find a service be it online or by phone where I could maybe do my part to try and combat loneliness whether that be phone calls or online. Being in that field if you know any remorse I could youse I'd appreciate the tip. I completed a biomedical science degree intending to go on and study Neuropsychopharmacology (as so many people are suffering and it breaks my heart) with an interest in using psyidelc s as medication ie death anxiety and stuff the research I've read fascinates me. Anyway enough about me. Bla bla bla lol There's a ren song(s) I think you should react to it's called " Depression ". Its a lyrical video and I believe there's another called "Insomnia " Oh and there is a song you have to check out ren and chinchilla's "how to be me" *some background it is filmed on a bridge and is about a friend who took his own life by jumping g off a bridge. And unfortunately, his body was never recovered (Hope that's not a spoiler I just feel the song hits differently when you know ). I hope you see this if you do could you like it or comment I hate not knowing things and my anxiety will make me feel stupid for writing an essay lol. Anyway back to your video I love your reactions and can't wait to hear your insights. Much love from Ireland 🇮🇪 ❤️. Gerard Ps Hope I didn't go on too much haha Tschüss

Jenny froze not a word as her mother Violet. Screech aggressive just as the father. full circle, and Jenny and Screech not even having a chance to realize it had gone full circle. violence gives birth to violence. doomed to fail and not know that it was the case. It really is so heavy. damn

If you have seen this trilogy read on, otherwise STOP HERE: . . . . I Hope you had on your seat belt while seeing this one. That last bit of Violets tale, where we first meet "a girl named Jenny and a boy named Screech" wrecked my freaking mind. I also saw a post from Ren saying Patrick his friend was not home because he was at Screeches GF place, having an affair with her. This is my opinion, his finding out his boy Patric nor his GF were loyal, this sent Screech even further into rage mode as the cop arrived. This contributed to him being mad enough to face off with the cop knowing he had a knife and was charging someone with a gun. A suicide by cop scenario ensued. Peace everyone.
