Today I'm testing two GPUs for 1440p: RTX 4070 Super 12 GB vs RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB - What's better for 2K?

The 3070ti sells for less than half the price and gets good 1440p perf, I got one a month ago with the 7800x3d after 7 years with the gtx 1070, I’m waiting for the 50 series to switch to 4k on my new monitor

I had vram issues with 3070ti in the beginning of 2023 already, many titles forced me to use medium textures already. So big question how good is that to buy this card now.

No need to believe me, just look benchmarks on UKposts, specifically on 8gb of vram.

@@TheMrSatyricon most titles I’ve played would’ve benefited with more vram yes, but wasn’t unplayable by no means even at 4k with dlss perf/balanced. If you are talking about ultra settings then yes, card is not able to go full textures but point still stands about the pricing, the 40 series is terrible in terms of pricing in my opinion.

@@visiionz_6699 got you mate. I switched from 3070ti to 6900xt in the january this year, added just about 150$, maybe it is worth for you to look at such kind of upgrade, because Nvidia is totally overpriced right now. You can get up to 50% more perfomance for a very reasonable amount of money. Ur CPU is perfect, I am still using 5600x, next upgrade will be to some x3d processor for sure.

60W less power draw on 4070S and more then 40 plus fps.. no comparison here

4070s no comparison. I worry about the vram but it mostly crushes things esp with ray tracing.

12 gb is totally not enough for 2k. Even games like squad and rust that are known to be more cpu intensive use more than 13 gb of vram for me on low-med settings

i would still argue that getting an rtx 4070 s when you have a 3070ti isn't worth it , because nvidia made dlss so good that 960p dlss to 1440p will look really similar or better in some instances than the native 1440p
