After seeing Rush 53 times including the final show at the Forum in LA even though I love watching these guys play, it just wasn't the same without Neil.... Tears!
@thommyjacobs8921Рік тому
Of course it wouldn't be the same without Neil. Rush will forever be 1/3 Neil. But the entire meaning of these shows isn't about that. It's about love & life celebration for Taylor & HIS connection & friendship with all those artists. If Neil were still with us he would be there playing his heart out for Taylor.

@timryan2850Рік тому
I hear you and sympathize. This is no disrespect to Neil, but the exact opposite. Danny and Neil had become close friends. So freaking cool to see him play YYZ. Chad Smith, also a huge fan and has said how Neil inspired him, just killed it! Killed It! Thank you Dave Grohl! What a splendid treat to watch this video.

This was not just a tribute to Taylor but to Neil too. To see Danny sit in Neil’s place was more than a tribute, I’m sure it was an honor for Danny. Neil was a hero for him. Danny and Neil played together years ago. Just to watch that video of them together, I knew that the torch had been passed from “the professor” to the student. I give props to Dave and Chad and Taylor as they are true drummers, through and through. But as for Neil and Danny, they are percussionists and are tops in their craft and very very few like them. Use of different instruments and time signatures are like no other. RIP Taylor and The Professor

I have the utmost respect for Danny and Dave and what they have done for music. They are both phenomenal musicians in their own right. With that said, no one can play these songs with true proficiency and feel other than the Professor himself. Nothing but love for Dave and Danny. This entire concert had me in tears on multiple occasions. RIP to two of the greatest drummers of our lifetime. Neil and Taylor...we love you.

I wouldn’t mind betting Danny was near perfect on that… I feel with Neil’s passing he stands head and shoulders above the crowd… just like Neil did. In fact I would go as far as to say Tool stand in the same special category as Rush… a massive and dedicated following despite the lack of mainstream attention, exceptionally talented, deeply philosophical and spiritual to listen to.

As great of a drummer as Daney Carey is, he didn't impress me with his YYZ performance. He messed up on the end of the intro, and also didn't do Neil Peart's signature ride cymbal pattern. As a Rush fan, I find that inexcusable. And I am a big Tool fan, as well.
@squeedum4893Рік тому
