UKpostsr gets creepy door knocks while filming solo camping video in dense forest late at night. After receiving the door knocks the person seems to slowly walk around the camper as if he/she was trying to look into the windows. The scariest part was that they would only knock once and it appears like they were dragging their knuckles down the door as if they were mad or crazy!! They moved my lawn chair into a position that would appear as though they were watching me all night. Then after almost no sleep I leave at first daylight and see what could have been the persons camp and even possibly the person sitting in their truck.

This is so true! For almost a quarter of a century now I, first paid in a very small fee which gave me the right to dredge a beautiful gold mining claim in the heart of the richest district's of California's gold rush in 1849. Then after 4 years of buying in, the owner sold this claim to myself an the 2 other miners I met while working the claim who became my friend's and mining partners. I literally quit jobs at the beginning of the dredging season ( before the illegal ban went into effect) several different years over the 25 years so that I could live in a tent on the claim full time and dredge as a full time job (before the illegal ban, as long as you knew what you were doing, you could definitely find enough gold to pay for your entire season and still make a respectable profit. Living up there full time for almost 5 months, you got to know all the locals. For me, a 5', 3" , 110 pound blonde woman with a full set of real teeth in my mouth, all of the locals definitely wanted to know who I was. There's 3 locals in particular that I was never comfortable being around and I definitely NEVER wanted to get caught alone with! One guy named Joe was by far the scariest, he was a know woman beater, a known hider from the cops guy AND rumored by all the other locals (including the lovely family folks who ran the local country store and the sandwich shop) to be Charles Manson's son. He 100% has those same crazy eyes. I am not even kidding

Pack at least one large caliber sidearm. .357 magnum, .41 magnum, or .44 magnum. Or no less than a 9mm semi auto, but better with a 10mm or .45 auto. A 10mm can duplicate a .41 magnum in performance and good bear medicine. And can be loaded for 2 legged predators. A .45 can deal with wolves, coyotes, and smaller bears not big brown bears. If you're going to camp in your vehicle, packing a 12.gquge shotgun with 00 buck and slugs will deal with anything. A .308 rifle or AK rifle will deter any 2 legged predator. My FN SCAR 17 is 7.62x51 and has a folding stock (paratrooper style) so it can be a folded yet still shootable in folded stock position. That makes it easy to stow in a vehicle.

There was a couple just outside of Santa Rosa on a road that links Santa Rosa to Calistoga, pulled off the road to sleep and someone just randomly shot at them. Didn't get to find out if they did ok, but it was thought to be local kids. Just can NOT be too safe out there anymore. Rest stops are dangerous, side of the road is dangerous. People camping in tents in State Parks, hiking multistate trails. Local or mobile thieves, killers, rapists all watching and waiting for that random chance. Can't imagine NOT being armed camping. and parameter lighting and alarms seems a must these days.
@worklessenjoylifemore
@worklessenjoylifemore Рік тому
@@collinsfriend1 thanks for sharing that story. I never camp on the side of the road or at rest stops. I never camp at state parks either. Usually I stick to BLM and National Forest land and I make sure I’m as far away from other campers as I can be. I always have weapons for self defense and always have an eye open for anything suspicious. I figure for every one camper getting shot situation there is 2000+ situations of people getting shot and robbed inside their own home 🏡 so it can happen anywhere and anytime. I try to relax and enjoy nature but still realizing there could be dangerous people around. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤙

When you park your camper in the wild, you should always hang up a camera to either film or take pictures of your camper. Then you can see the next day whether it was an animal or a person who was outside. And maybe identify the person too so you can look for him and avoid him if you spot him near you. My dog, which is very big, a Pyrenean Mountain dog on 80 kilo would gone mad if he heard someone outside. And if I would let him out he would kill the intruder....... Take care and stay safe. Always bring a gun like you did. Greetings from Norway.

You are a brat sir….. you’re really had me going there. I was roughing it in a small cabin alone and in about two in the morning it sounded like to giant cats were killing each other right out in front of my place I was staying. Scared me half to death. The next day I drove to a phone told my mother what happened. And thanked her for helping me pay for the cabin. Because I was supposed to just stay in a tent. But the whole family decided no you will not stay in a tent. I was 22 when that happened. That was back in the early 80s. So yes watching this reminded me of that night. Also, I went camping there every year for 15 years. I was not going to let two large cats killing themselves in front of my place stopped me from coming.

You almost had me there. Two quick camping stories: 1). I once had a genuine scary encounter while tent camping in a remote mountain area, with two very young kids and a scared wife. A large animal suddenly attacked another smaller one in a tree line about 25 feet from our tent. The screams of the animal being mauled woke us all up suddenly and like a good thing. I’ll fast forward to the end of this story,,,,, Let’s just say I was so glad I had my Ruger Mini-30 next to my sleeping bag with hicap magazines that night. 😜😜😜 2). A few years later, we bought an RV becasue wife didn’t like tent camping due to story 1. So there we are, all set up in another really remote part of the country. On night #2, some weird freak that no-joke, looked like a young and crazed Charlie Manson shows up about 40 yards from us. (I know right????). I’m thinking, why is this dude camping right on top of us? He’s in an old beater station wagon from like the 70’s and it appears he’s obviously a transient type, living in his car. Well I watch him retrieve a shovel and he begins digging a hole for the next couple of hours, just behind his car and with a dim lantern on. He also had a machete in a sheath on his belt and appeared to be talking to himself all night. At that camp (like all camps), I had a sidearm on me but legally concealed, along with my λR-Fifτεεη close by, but not displayed. He just kept me awake at night, creeping me out. When it was still daylight, I took a surreptitious picture of him, his car and license plate, “just in case.” Come morning, I stepped outside and he was gone and the hole was partially filled up. It was about 4’ X 4’ and the depth looked about 2.5’ below the surface, filled in. There was still a large amount of remaining piled-up fresh dirt he didn’t bother to fill in. Who knows how deep he dug down and for whatever reason. We decided to just pack up and go elsewhere. Really weird. I doubt he was burying anything, as doing that in front of potential witnesses would just be really stupid on his part. But I do think he was a cray man.

A lot of people lurking around in the dark are looking for those expensive coolers and the booze within them. We had a $300.00 cooler dragged out of our tent site with about 200.00 worth of groceries in it.

Number one rule, besides always have a buddy with you, do not ever keep food in with you where you sleep. When I was young my parents had a camper like this in which my mom kept and cooked our food and a bear tried to break in. My parents thought it was a person, next day found the tent campers site nearby torn to shreds and bear prints outside our camper.

That’s super scary 😧 what part of the country were they in? Thanks for watching and sharing this important tip
@lf4061
@lf4061 Рік тому
We were in Yellowstone that time, so not so surprising. However, I had it happen to me again some years later in central Missouri. That time it finally left my trailer to break in one where children had just been called inside for dinner. Some men heard the childrens’ screaming and came running with guns and were able to scare the bear off. It was on the edge of a small town and local authorities set up a baited cage and a couple days later caught a mother bear who had several cubs nearby. That was a unique situation but when camping, the rules apply no matter where you are if there are possibly bears or cougars/mountain lions even in a camper or trailer or even coyotes or smaller predators, if you are just in a tent. Keep food in bear containers attached to long rope and hung high toward end of a branch high in a tree and a bit away from your camp. Personally, I would rather they get my food than me 🤣

Solar motion detector lights pointed fairly straight down in case they get to close to trailer. Shotgun for close range. When alone play random conversation of you and others talking so they assume your not alone. When I hear noises I generally turn all the lights on making it painfully obvious to the intruder that you are aware of their presence. If all else fails shoot blanks thru the windows. Not many people stick around for a gun blast. It's always good to have a second point of exit. I was completely having a panic attack watching you stay so silent!!! Happy Thanksgiving, and Have and Merry Christmas *Newly Updated Safety Suggestions: for Campers, Explorers, Travelers* I just happened to see your channel, and others similar channels recently, and I think that you, and others sharing their actual reality, and some have expressed some of the up, and down sides to van, RV, or vehicle living. Although, I just noticed your UKposts channel, and other similar channels, displaying van living. I just wanted to remind everyone to Aware Be of your surroundings and Alert, I just posted this anyway to help anyone who may benefit from these suggestions I believe that it is very helpful, and beneficial to others who may be thinking about this type of living without actually thinking through, about the some of the realistic problems that could occur with vehicle or van living etc... People need to know what up sides there are, as well as some of the down sides of vehicle living. I believe this channel, and other channels have been informative to others, including myself. Although, I am NOT living in a vehicle or anything like this. I feel that you , and others UKpostsrs sharing this with your viewers will be very helpful. I wish you ALL the Best with your traveling endeavors. I shared this with several other travelers, as I watched their UKposts channel for the first time, as yours, and I shared with them this information that may be helpful to you as well to others. Therefore, I would also like to suggest a few Safety tips, and items that may help you, or others in your viewing audience. Although, you may have knowledge of this already, I am not sure, so I hope this will be helpful to you, others or someone. *Keep a Extra working cellphone with you or in your vehicle. You can purchase inexpensive phone with a very low monthly price between 25, 35, 45, dollars a month with unlimited data and text, and some have Nationwide coverage Do your research for the best fit for you Consider Carrying Several Extra portable cellphone phone chargers, and cables. Consider theses items: *Mini portable power charging station. I have also seen outdoor portable solar powered power stations, that can be recharged from sunlight this may be very useful to have, to power your devices. *Invest in a Cellular signal booster for outdoor use, and camping situations to boost or amplify your cell signal and reception. Consider also the purchase of a WiFi signal booster to also boost your WiFi signal. Research to see what you prefer. *Very Inportant: Invest in a SOS distress electronic signal device, this a kind of device can send out a distress signal with your exact location. There are various types of these devices, and including devices that can be used when boating, or camping situations. *Some have emergency Strobe lights SOS signaling with location alerts, and location updates that can be sent to your family, and emergency first responders. Some can be synchronized with your smart watch or phone. There are some satellite SOS texting messaging, locator devices that will send messages with your phone even if there isn’t any cellular signal, or WiFi. With this device your can still text, and communicate with others in a emergency satellite transmission. Check online, for various emergency SOS products, some are small to fit in the palm of your hand. You can check online, and on Amazon, research what SOS devices will be a good fit for you. *Mini portable vehicle battery jumper charger *vehicle battery jumper cables *Vehicle Jumper cables *PLEASE BE AWARE* that in the *WINTER* *vehicle *Batteries fail* many times in very cold weather conditions. Vehicle batteries drain more often in the winter months. Please Keep a vehicle battery portable jumper pack, this is a device that can jumper or boost your vehicles battery yourself without another vehicle. If you have a older battery in your vehicle, Please have it tested or replace it, and consider the purchase a new vehicle battery with higher Cold Cranking Amps rating. Be Aware that Sometimes even a battery that is a few years old can fail in the Winter months, and extremely cold temperatures. Some alternatives to Winter Camping, Travelers, Explorers, etc, if you can find a Warmer Climate Location to stay during Extreme Winter months, or stay with family for a few weeks. Another alternative is renting somewhere, Hotel, Apartment, although it can probably get expensive. What ever you decide, or choose to do or as a possible alternative, Please Be Careful, Alert, Aware, Safe, and Informed... *Keep a First Aid kit available and handy. *Keep a Fire extinguisher handy *Smoke detectors, and Carbon monoxide detectors can be helpful Consider installing; *Mounted Dashboard camera front and rear possibly. *Exterior vehicle mounted camera for the front, rear, and both sides of your vehicle. Some can be activated by motion, Including spotlights. *Interior vehicle cameras *Flashlights or pluggin spotlights *Portable spotlights, and lanterns Keep a few whistles around with you, and in your vehicle possibly in your vehicle’s center console *Keep a Sound horn, for hiking this can service, as a deterrent, and a emergency signal alert for others. *A set of long range 2 way radios, walkie talkies, to communicate with others during trips, some have 100 mile radius keep for emergencies, you can keep with you when hiking. Use your own discretion regarding the use carrying of any weapons. Don’t forget to bring Bear Spray Pepper spray Where is allowed Purchase a couple canisters just in case and keep it with you If you own a drone you can use it to survey your area for animals etc. However, Please Be Safe and Beware of your Surroundings. Stay Alert, and Be Safe even when stopping at Rest stops, Truck Stops, and conducting your various tasks. Keep in often contact with your family, friends etc. Keep up with the latest Weather Updates, beware and prepare for unexpected Weather events and conditions. *VERY IMPORTANT* I would suggest *NOT* to travel to locations without internet, cellular service in the Winter, the reason is that weather conditions can change very quickly, and you absolutely DO NOT want have a vehicle break down, or malfunction, or emergency, and not have the availability to communicate, and contact your family, and or, emergency road assistance, or emergency services. *Safety is Paramount* *Your Life is Important* *You want to Live to Travel another Day* *So Be Safe* *Stay Alert* *Keep your vehicle gas filled* Don’t ride on fumes, or on Empty. Don’t chance your Safety by running your vehicle fuel or gas too close to Empty. Fill it up anyway, it will save you alot of time, and headache later on. Remember to keep up on routine maintenance, check your tires for wear, keep up with your fluids for your vehicle, like oil levels, antifreeze coolant, Please carry extra (oil)(washer fluid), (brake fluid), (antifreeze). You will need extra Winshield Washer fluid because of the ever changing Weather conditions, dustly roads, especially in slushy wet roads. Furthermore, you will need extra Windshield Washer Fluid, Because you will Be driving more often in dusty, dirty, windy, and varying weather conditions. Your windshield will gather dust and debris from long term driving. Also, Remember Because you are on the road riding for sometimes very long distances, and long periods of time, I would suggest investing in 2 sets of tires, and a spare, the extra set to rotate. Check the mileage ratings on your tires they all very. Conduct visual inspections of your tires often, check for damage, wearing, air pressure, etc Keep a pressure gauge to check your tires pressure and a tire pump. Electric, Portable tire pump. Keep towing insurance to Be Safe if you ever need it. It Doesn’t cost much try to get National coverage if available, or where you will be traveling. Keep Extra financing, and savings for any unexpected issues, vehicle repairs, and overnight stays, in a emergency or if you need to rest indoors. Keep Enjoying Yourself, Keep Enjoying the outdoors, and Nature Just..Please continue to Be Positive, Safe, and Alert.. Wishing Success, Well-being and Happiness You All. God Bless You, and everyone Traveling, or living in their vehicles, Vans, RVs, etc. Please Be Safe..... God Be With You..... It goes the same for your home never open the door for anyone unless you know who it is!! That's a good way to get killed or robbed, people can knock all they want but they come through the door and they will be met by gunfire!! The most common trick people play is they will knock in the middle of the night and say they need help or need to use a phone!! Don't do it

i used to work at a ranch in Texas near Abeline, and i lived in an RV and the ranch manager lived in the ranch house. some times late at night a loud nock on the RV would wake me up and i would yell ,, i'm coming ,, thinking it was morning and that the ranch manager was nocking on the door! only to find out it was 3 or 4 in the morning!!!

Time to invest in some external CCTV cameras with night vision. Have cameras to cover every angle of your camper. Have your monitors close to your sleeping area where you can easily monitor everything. I would also invest in some VERY LOUD speakers to frighten away any wild animals like bears, etc.

@@worklessenjoylifemore yeah, you can have an really good amplifier and some outdoor, waterproof speakers. You can play very high frequency sound in the event that you have bears or other creatures in the area. They will clear out real quick if the sound is loud and painful.
