Kaori says she doesn't challenge high difficulty jumps, but this video is very interesting. She doesn't challenge high difficulty jumps, but just improves the quality of her jumps. Many athletes jump better in their teens than in their 20's, but in her case, her jumps are great now. She is a hard worker!

@@user-eq3zc1ec2oshe did failed but I wouldn’t say « miserably ». She’s 23, working on ultra-C elements at this age is way harder compared to a 11 or 12 year old.

@@skatingmusic8779 I don't know if she's actually planning to attempt it in a competition (I don't think she will master it consistently honestly) if she does so that would be cool, the 4lo is the less attempted quad (after the 4A of course). But like a lot of others skaters, she is maybe just working on a quad to improve her triples. Which is fine anyway. But the fact she is still aiming for greater difficulty and challenging herself even at 24 proves she has the right athlete mindset.

А в чем она великолепна? На ЧМ , в этом году, ясно видно, что Каори уже практически нет. То есть, нет той прежней Каори. Прыжки, вращения, скольжение ,компоненты, все плохо. А все потому что нет конкуренции, нет стимула совершенствоваться. И триксель она никогда не прыгнет. У нее нет техники, чтобы его прыгнуть.

Она крепкая, совсем не изящная, но прыгает хорошо, наверное очень сильные ноги. Давно наблюдаю за Каори, уважаю ее трудолюбие и упорство.

I prefer watching beautifully executed strong 2A rather than fake 3A with pre-rotation and two-footed landing. Kaori is a master of 2A and she should stay with that!

No soy fan de Sakamoto, pero hay que reconocer que ella tenía un buen 2A, lo que le faltaba era tener una transición compleja en la entrada y la salida del salto, a pesar de eso en la actualidad le dan un buen Goe +. Sakamoto no es buena para realizar saltos ultra C, ya lo intentó con el 4T y no le salió. Con el 3A no creo que sea diferente...es mejor que mantenga los saltos triples que tiene... Con eso le basta para ganarle a todas las Patinadoras de la ISU sin las rusas en la actualidad....

@@Catalina_EstevezTenía, no, tiene el mejor axel del mundo en la disciplina femenina. Y sí tiene transiciones en el salto. Hay compilaciones del salto en UKposts en las que hace brackets, counters, cambio de filo, back spirals, bestie squats, etc en practicamente todos sus 2A. Que no haga extensiones no significa que no tenga transiciones; la principal diferencia entre Kaori y otras patinadoras es que ella tiene un running edge maravilloso que le permite patinar antes y después de los elementos. Esas son sus transiciones, no el hacer développés para enmascarar que no sabe mantener la cuchilla activa después del salto.

@@mariomolinaorbea2180 Sakamoto tiene el mejor 2A de la ISU a partir del 2022...pero no de todo el mundo....a falta de competencia real, usted no puede dar por sentado algo. Antes del 2022 usted vio cuáles eran sus calificaciones en TES en la ISU? El GOE+ en el 2A que le daban a Sakamoto no era el mismo que le dan en la actualidad... Lo mismo pasa con los saltos triples que hace... Un ejemplo claro es el Lutz que claramente es flutz (como tenían y tienen muchas otras Patinadoras Rusas, de EEUU y de Japón) antes del 2022 tenía otra calificación y ahora le dan un GOE positivo alto.. Sabe por qué? Por qué Sakamoto es la mejor Patinadora de la ISU sin las Rusas y como tal es la favorita de la ISU. No es culpa de Sakamoto la falta de competencia, pero tampoco vamos a reventarle cohetes cuando sabemos cuál es la situación del Patinaje Artístico Femenino en la actualidad...de muy bajo nivel. Muy bien está aplicado el dicho en el actual patinaje artístico femenino de la ISU post Olimpiadas 2022: "En el país de ciegos....el tuerto es rey"

@@Catalina_Estevez Todos sabemos que la ISU adora crear campiones y siempre apoya a quien esté en la cima, eso no quita que el 2A de Sakamoto no fuese excelente antes de que su GOE subiese con la ausencia de las rusas: La altura, distancia, velocidad, running edge y transiciones de patinaje convierten su axel en el mejor del mundo objetivamente entre las patinadoras seniors (la única persona con una calidad similar es Kostornaia, cuando competía como solista). En ningún momento he hablado de su Lutz, sea dicho de paso, y considero que tener un flutz no cambia que la calidad, sobre todo, en sus saltos de cuchilla, sea excelente. Eso sin mencionar sus dotes de patinaje, que son infinitamente mejor que las de la mayoría de las atletas en activo - rusas incluidas-. A veces olvidamos que ciertos elementos de los PCS son mucho más objetivos de lo que a algunos les gusta reconocer. Por otra parte, me parece interesante que usted crea que el patinaje femenino actual sea tan deficiente, cuando hay más personas que nunca imitando el estilo de Eteri Tutberidze. La técnica de salto es exactamente la misma, solo sin ultra C (elementos que, por otra parte, no considero sean definitorios del deporte).

Honestly, I would choose Kaori's level of speed, edgework, and skating skills than watching women skaters only perform ultra-c elements any day. Great attempt though. Kaori arguably has the best axel technique out of all women skaters competing today.

You can "choose" whatever aspect you want as a fan, but in the end a triple axel is more than twice the value of a double axel. It's maths. If skaters want to challenge themselves they should be encouraged to do so, it's how a high level sport, you can't content yourself with easiness when you have the opportunity to get better. If you don't, other will, and as long as I know, as beautiful as your axel and other jumps are, it will reach a glass ceiling compared to those other skaters who will actually take the risk. Kaori is plenty aware of that, that's why she worked on 3A and that she said she occasionnaly worked on 4lo. But when you didn't picked up these jumps as a kid it's very difficult to get consistent with them, especially after puberty.

I think she can get the 3A, but she will certainly have to change her technique. Her double axel, yes, while fast and covers a lot of distance, it's not very high. I would suggest that she consult with Midori Ito, if she hasn't already. Midori lives in Japan, they speak the same language, and Midori's double axel has YET to be equaled. Just look at her double axel combination from her long program in the 1988 Calgary Olympics. The double axel ALONE covers half the width of the rink, and you can literally hear the audience gasp. Also, Midori could show Kaori how she positioned her body on the takeoff. Ilia Malinin has a very similar trajectory on his quad axel which is why he's able to get so much height. Midori pretty much paved the way FOR the quad axel. Her triple axel take off could not have been crafted better. In fact, most men used to skid the entrance of their takeoff ... including, yes, and it pains me to say it, Brian Boitano. Midori's triple axel took off on a clean edge. So, either consult Midori or watch her tapes. The woman was ahead of her time, we still have not seen THAT type of jumping since 2002 I would say. Kaori comes close, but she doesn't get nearly the height Midori got, and Midori is SHORTER than Kaori. So, that should tell you all you need to know.

She's only a tad underrotated but the height is impressive. I think we'll see her landing it in comps pretty soon.

@@Yurito12 No he visto ningún video de Sakamoto aterrizando un 4T en prácticas, por eso no se si aterrizo con ambos pies, era underrotation o downgrade. Si he visto el 4S de Kihira en entrenamientos, pero el aterrizaje era underrotation o downgrade.

全然回転が足りてないですね。今の回転不足に厳しいジャッジではまず無理だろうね。坂本のスピードと幅のあるジャンプを見ればトリプルアクセルも4回転も余裕で出来ると素人は思うかもしれんけど全くの別物やからね。年齢が若い内から取り組まないと飛べないって事だな。もちろん才能も必要やけど。14歳から25歳までトリプルアクセルを飛び続けた浅田真央は本当に偉大だったと言わざるおえないね。

ちょっとこれは厳しいかな。3Aを跳ぶには軸を細くすることと回転速度を上げないといけない。彼女はそれとは真逆で、軸が太く幅で跳ぶタイプ。跳び方を全く変える必要があるけどもうベテランの時期の彼女にそれは現実的じゃないと思う。今までの構成を維持する戦略で合ってる。それよりルッツのほうが…。今は敵なし状態だけど強豪が復帰してきたらきついかな。
