Yeah. Faster battery degradation, not to mention the adhesives sticking the back plate is sensitive to heat. My phone's back cover fell off after multiple intensive gaming sessions. The difference in heat produced by each phone was not mentioned. Exynos is really hot.

S23 may be small but you can bet that it will give you a better battery life than the S23 FE. Just the size of the battery doesn't matter much when it comes to battery life, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 inside the S23 is excellent at power efficiency and the battery life is amazing for such a small phone.

Here in the UK it's £250 difference. I got the S23 fe 256gb for £450 with trade and discounts.

They aren't a similar price at all

I own S23 FE exynos version. When I go to sleep, it drop around 6%-8% when I get up with wifi on and AC on. Drop around 2% when I ride 40-50 minutes of my motorcycle with cellular data on (3% drop when I listen Spotify with TWS) and 28°C - 30°C of outside temperatures. It lasted a day in my usage, full charge every morning. I sometimes use it for gaming 1hr. It's my usage, people will have difference usage tho. I don't think this phone has worse battery life with the last year of the infamous exynos processor. Not the best and not the worst and I don't think this phone has "extremely high standby battery usage". The problem is not standby usage, it's more how unoptimize the exynos managing battery when it's being use. My former Z Flip3 is the worse phone I ever own when it comes to battery life. Not even reach 3hr screen on time when using full cellular data.

I live in the States so the S9FE is the first exynos chip I've ever used. The drain is really surprising compared to the previous Snapdragon models I've owned. A few percentage points here and they're really add up if you haven't used it in a couple days.

Its not same with each device. Ones I tested at demo stands were heating up with basic menu browsing (unplugged from charger).

However because it comes with a nearly 2-year-old processor I hesitate to call it a flagship killer. Just because it is an S-series phone doesn't mean it's a flagship. Exynos is ahead of SD, lmao also the Exynos 2200 supports AV1 codec: AV1 is a video codec, it's a way in which videos are compressed. Compared to old video codecs like H264, AV1 typically produces much better image quality at the same bitrate. What this means is that a streamer can continue to stream at say 4000kps, but the video will be higher quality if they use AV1 instead of H264. This applies to other services as well like UKposts videos, Netflix videos, etc. They can deliver content at the same bit rate as before, but it's higher quality. Or they can reduce the bitrate, and maintain roughly the same quality as before. So Exynos has better performance thermals, and the camera is a tie.

Their QC is bad for Exynos chips. It's like playing a SoC lottery. I have also used a S23FE with similar problems, I also skipped buying S20+ for the same reason in the past when nearly all demos were heating with basic usage, while phones around them were cool unless we put it to stress. I don't know I am lucky or what but my S10+ and my wife's s21fe (both Exynos) are not heating like that, but after seeing all heating demos, I am afraid to upgrade my S10+ with this phone.
