She was a child actor and in my opinion was amazing in Speak where she played an SA victim. So there isn’t really a pattern if she was exceptional in movies before twilight and then after twilight, that means twilight was the issue lol idk that’s just what I noticed tho

I think it was on purpose in Spencer for audiences to feel disconnected as to see how Diana felt when she was around the royal family

The only bad thing I’ll say about Kristen is that pretty much every time she spoke in the movie, her voice sounded too aggressive. But other than that I liked her performance.

Kristen does not sound British nor upper class what a fail. Only dopey Yanks will approve.

But it’s good to mention, that both her bodyguard and personal chef praised Kristen’s performance as the most similar out of all depictions to real Diana

The only wrong was marrying Diana, well the heart wants what it wants. He should have married Camilla right away. Diana should have ended up with somebody who gave her the love4 she desired. Being a Royal wife is about duties, love seldom figures at least not int he way she wanted.

What killed Diana was public attention.

I disagree, notice how demure she was in the scenes in public in the crown is accurate to the existing media footage. I think it's very possible that Diana was more expressive in private, this is after all a person who had the same courage to do the interview and expose her broken marriage and the royal family

I feel the same way. Though I actually liked Kristen a bit better. Lady Gaga was good, but I got the sense she was concentrating too much on nailing the accent at times instead of adding substantial emotional depth to the role. I feel like I was supposed to find her character less repulsive than the movie intended (even though watching an interview with her she really does come off as an uncaring sociopath). She was still fun and entertaining however. Stewart's performance seemed stiff and forced at first, but once I understood what they were going for I thought she was great. It's not totally flawless, but what she lacks in perfect delivery she says a lot with her face and body language. The jittery facial expressions and movement add a lot to sympathizing with her stress and anxiety as all the pressure is on her. I found myself understanding both the outsiders' perspective (Except Charles, fuck that guy) and Diana's as she struggles living a life with zero privacy and tons of rigid social rules.

If it makes you feel better, Kristen probably loathes them too 😂
