I have the same idea with 4" pvc piping for our shower water. I love how you pressurise it with a simple pump. Great Idea.

Very cool. Also feel like you have to chuckle when you say "... and this is my short bus."

Absolutely love the artwork very impressive, looks very comfy every video I watch builds are different it’s great to be able to get ideas from other builds and I haven’t seen one I don’t like x

I agree. My friend who painted the bus did such a killer job! Thanks for watching!

Did you forget the camping toilet? I've seem on other conversions. The size of a large Igloo cooler. It have to have that out in the middle of nowhere.
@tmber012 роки тому
I like your bus, man! Nice job! I just picked up the same bus only a 1995 model originally built by Collins Bus Corp, just like yours. I did a whole lot of research trying to find just the right vessel, which is why I recognized yours as a Collins. I'm planning a rear deck similar to yours. I'm just beginning the conversion process and look forward to getting on the road next spring. One of the things I plan on doing is installing a winch system so that I can pull myself through some tough spots instead of beating the bus up.

PBR after taste yukkkkk. Lol That's a nice little home on the go. That's a good size for a toy hauler, you can still get around. We've got some nice parks, both National and State Forests and some times of the year you couldn't take a reg 74 kid bus with a block long wheelbase on roads/trails to get to the best spot to play with the toys. Ocala Nat Forrest has some nice areas for just about anything you want to do. It has areas good for bikes but not far from there in Belleview is a world class off-road track that's FREE and camping at the campersite ( with showers) in Ocala Forrest is also free but you have to move your camp every couple weeks but not to worry, after a few days/week you'll be ready to leave, it's hotter in other places but other then other Fl spots, Ocala Forrest is muggy hot humidity

Great build exactly what I want to do except for me I would need the front couch to pull into a bed with the under storage. Love the gloss white all around!!!

Thanks! I wanted it to feel open so going with the white was a good call for that!

I took my short bus up a hill that I shouldn't have, on a road that I shouldn't have, and ended up at a washout in the road with no way to turn around. All I can say is having the ability to turn on a dime makes all the difference in these situations. I like my short bus too. ;)
@AndrewTaylor4 роки тому
It would be nice to have more room but thats exactly right.. its nice to be able to get around easily!

@reidcrosby62416 років тому
Given its not a dually, and your dependent upon your tires so much ...look up "G" series 16" tires , full steel cased like a tractor trailer tire..no squirm, and very safe. You could also do a 19.5" tire/rim conversion. Rickson Rims can help you that, ask for Heather, she super smart on this stuff. .

Hi sir nice conversation I'm working on getting one my self. Two questions if dont mind how many feet is from the back of the driver seat to the back exit, and second what type of AC unit is that thanks very much for your time I'm greatfull
@AndrewTaylor4 роки тому
Thanks! I believe it was roughly 15 feet from the driver seat to the back of the exit and I only ran the stock AC that came on the bus when I bought it. The motor had to be running in order to use it.
@Lovelace0696 років тому
8 minutes later...........that was awesome! I saw that Yt vid about building that solar shower tube......you totally nailed it. May I aak the name brand of the little fridge? and does anyone use 100watt roll/foldable panels for power?
@AndrewTaylor6 років тому
Passionate Paintress thanks! It was a super fun build! The fridge is just a cheap generic one from Home Depot, it definitely drains the batteries when the suns not shining but it was a cheap alternative. I think I'll buy a propane fridge soon 👍🏻

@southernrebel1596 років тому
Nice build, did you happen to video the construction?
@AndrewTaylor4 роки тому
Thanks! I wish I did but I was so busy actually building that I forgot to set up cameras haha
@garthlocklin63555 років тому
Great rig and set up! My only suggestion for improvement would an upgrade to A/T tires on all 4 corners with the lugs on the sidewalls to improve traction in ditches and washouts. I always prefer single rear wheels over dually because of better traction in rain and slick conditions because of more pounds per square inch on the rear tires. Just make sure they're heavy duty. Get a 3/8 or 1/2 inch DeWalt 20v portable battery impact gun just in case you gotta change a tire in a remote location. You mentioned your may sell it in 6 months or so? What rig would you go with next? Yours looks like it has the metal body; I have driven a few airport shuttle buses that were bigger but fiberglass. After 140K or so miles of use by various drivers the bodies start cracking with minor accidents or hitting curbs on the back wheels. I notice some schoolie owners attach 2x12 PT boards bolted thru the exterior walls to keep the body stiffer and have less flex issues.
@ronaldreed76985 років тому
Sounds like an interesting project, why not put together a little video showcasing your skoolie
@Not_AlottaAcres4 роки тому
I noticed that you replaced the bus with an RV... was this because the bus ended up not being so great for a particular reason? Also, did you loose much money when you sold it? I appreciate any insights, there is a bus for sale near me and I’m just trying to make an educated decision. Hope all is well!
@AndrewTaylor4 роки тому
Derrick Willingham yeah it’s because I went full time on the road for two years so I needed something with a bathroom and shower. The bus was amazing for weekend or even week long trips but living out of it was another story haha I was all in about 10k with the conversion and ended up selling it for 17k so I even made a little money : )
@WanderingNature7 років тому
Love it
@AndrewTaylor4 роки тому
Thanks!
@skitsothemadman59036 років тому
I really want to do something similar how much does a short bus normally cost and a fallowing question what's the bathroom setup ?
@AndrewTaylor6 років тому
Hey Dr. Madness I got a great deal on mine paying only a couple thousand dollars. I'd say most short buses range from 2k to 5k. Just take your time and look for a good deal. As for the bathroom, I'd some people have a portable one and some people hit up local bathrooms.

@joshcollard78344 роки тому
I really dig this bus, did you convert it to 4x4?
@AndrewTaylor4 роки тому
Thanks! No, I never ended up converting it because it handled through any terrain I threw its way. I think the heavy weight of the vehicle helped out a lot.
@hardtailfails3 роки тому
What do you think would be the best vechical to travel with now buses have became insanely expensive
@AndrewTaylor3 роки тому
Hard to say. If you can find an RV for the right price I would say its the way to go.
@bugoutstuff58405 років тому
Good build, but what if he had to take the bus to the East Coast to survive?? Could it make it???
@AndrewTaylor4 роки тому
Without a doubt, I actually sold this bus to someone who took it to the East Coast
@aidanhottes54693 роки тому
Hey man how much did it cost for the whole build? Would really love to do something similar to your bus for myself
@AndrewTaylor3 роки тому
I think I had roughly 10 to 12K into it. I ended up selling it for 17k so it was a fun project that I never imagined I would get a return from.
@Shaponz6 років тому
how much did all the conversion cost altogether?
@AndrewTaylor4 роки тому
I think I spend about 6 or 7 thousand to get it to this point.
@nolanstephens58353 роки тому
How often does your bus tend to break down/need engine repairs?
@AndrewTaylor3 роки тому
It was pretty solid while I owned it. I had one small issue with the TP sensor but once I got it dialed in it was smooth sailing.
@cathybt4 роки тому
Only issue is not being able to stand straight
