My guess is that they brainstorm a lot of vague scenarios ahead of time, then tailor one to whatever current event they're making fun of. Like "Team X sues Team Y for emotional distress" or "Team Z upsets Team Q" or "Team R does well for a few games, then gets brought back down to earth when they encounter Team P" or "Team G is looking for a date but fails because...whatever is happening currently." They're very good at filling in the blanks, such as the mustard joke, which didn't really have to have this exact skit to be used as a reference. They could have fit it into any number of scenarios.

Evan, yes the score, which obviously is the only thing that matters, says that tn hung around for three quarters, let’s get real. Bama completely dominated the game. Tn was 2-11 on third downs and 0-1 on fourth down. Tn had possession of the ball for 19 minutes out of 60 minutes. Tn was held to 64 yards in rushing yards. Bama had 33 first downs to tn’s 10. Bama converted 75% of its third downs. Bama had 574 total yards, more than 200 yards over tn. Other than three plays, tn was toast the entire game. The end score isn’t even reflective of how badly tn was beaten.

Ole Miss still has to play Alabama, Auburn, LSU, TAMU, Arkansas and Mississippi State. Who does the East have that's historically tough? Florida? Georgia? South Carolina? Mizzou...well, those 2 may be a stretch. Playing Vandy every year is..merciful, since the SEC West has the toughest in division, conference schedule in College Football.

The Cross-Division games started during the addition of Arky and USC(east), and were based mostly on one of the two teams that the other ten teams played yearly (ex. Auburn gets shafted the most over the crossover schedule. Some years they get both UGA and Florida. Imagine being Ole Miss where you have Vandy as your traditional crossover and then draw South Carolina as the other team. It creates way too much in the way of scheduling unfairness. Same with East teams. Poor Tennessee has Bama every year and then may also draw a good LSU team or Texas A&M.

@Billy Cole II -- totally agree, hence why they need to do away with it. The West teams also have the same issue. The West is already the stronger Division. Having to then play a permanent crossover against UGA or Florida is vastly unfair vs a Vanderbilt, South Carolina, or Missouri. And all that noise about “tradition” is just water cooler talk. There’s enough rivalry tradition within the Divisions themselves.

@Billy Cole II - first of all, the BIG10 does not play every team in conference each year. The BIG10 has 14 teams in it. Everyone plays a 9 game conference schedule meaning that each team has 4 opponents they don’t play in a given year. Same scenario in the SEC. So unless both the BIG10 and the SEC go to a 13 game (conference only) regular season, it’s not happening. The only Power 5 conference that plays everyone is the BIG12 and that’s only because there are 10 teams in that conference. You may want to do your research next time before you press “send”.

Yea I thought the same. These big games they’ve played and loss, they were leading in the 1st half and then late in the 2nd half they gas out. Tennessee just don’t have the horses to compete with bama and Georgia right now . The Pitt and Florida game would’ve been different if hooker would’ve layer those whole games. When hooker was in the 1st half of the Florida game they were winning at half time. Then 2nd half he gets hurt and Milton comes in and couldn’t do anything. And the Pitt game they played Milton the whole time until the end. When hooker got comfortable with their offense m, things started clicking I think

Whenever your at a talent deficit like Tennessee what they need to do is out pace Bama in the first half so there gassed players in the second half only need to try and keep a score above Bama rather than trying to catch up. I though Tennessee was going to do it with the first quarter they had.

While I agree with your assessment of Tennessee, let's not forget that Alabama shot themselves in the foot quite a bit in the first half of that game as well. Alabama got their crap together in the second half and it really wasn't even close from that point forward. With that said, Tennessee did a really good job of capitalizing off of those mistakes and putting themselves in the driver's seat for the first half.

@@JSchaffer214 same could be said about the Vols and penalties. Tennessee doesn't take advantage of a blocked punt and only gets 3. Both teams blew chances. Bama had drops that could of blew the game open early. Tennessee had 2 or 3 drives start with one or more false starts. With the situation UT is in I think any realistic fan just wants to see progress and they are showing that. How many times in the last 15 years has this game been over in the first quarter. Bama is in a position to where if the game is close heading into the 4th quarter then fans should be upset, its how great their program has become.
