Ship 28 was destacked and moved to Pad B, presumably for engine testing while Booster 10 was rolled back to the Production Site. Meanwhile, four sections of Starbase's second launch tower arrived in port.

@@rogerphelps9939not for somebody who's been watching this since there was just a small windbreak big enough for the nosecone section at the production site. And the launchpads just started being built. The progress and constant change at Starbase is just amazing to be able to witness. Not every video may be super interesting sure. But you can't say anything about the production quality, the consistent coverage and the way they manage to sum up all the daily developments at Starbase to keep all of us up to date on the progress. I don't know what kind of award would be suitable for this. Something in the documentary section maybe? Who knows. But the work they have done over the years absolutely deserves one. I have a few questions about the tank farm if any one knows and answer: 1) what are the recondensors used for exactly? 2) how are the cryo liquids kept cold while in the massive storage tanks for weeks at a time?
@Subtronical
@Subtronical 2 місяці тому
As i understand liquids are made cryo by super cooling them, meaning they can remain in liquid form and then during launch day they are super cooled by either helium but i think its actually nitrogen to make it cryo. So in the storage thanks they are just in their liquid form. Its only during launch that they got into cryo state by getting super cooled and it happens when they enter the boosters and then they got into cryo form ...thats why you always see that plume of gas and whooosh sound that comes out of the boosters ..so its always in liquid in storage only cryo in to the boosters right before the launch as they are getting cooled. But an expert may answer this better or correctly in case im wrong. As for recondesors... its a loop ... converting gas back into liquid ..i dont know which stage its used on..but i have seen the video on it and how they use it on ...they combustion will create gas which will have to go somewhere, typically as an exhaust ...so why not use it back to make more liquid and combust more so its like a loop chain for more efficiency if im correct. Good questions....

@@StevePemberton2 I still think StarShip will launch from a mobile launcher platform for human missions. I think SpaceX has rented high bay 1 in the VAB. Pad 39A/B are the only human rated pads and only at KSC. I don't see that changing anytime soon.
@StevePemberton2
@StevePemberton2 2 місяці тому
@@Mattguyverr Crew Dragon will be launching from CCSFS pad 40 (maybe only non-NASA flights) , and Starliner will be launching from CCSFS pad 41. Another flame generating opinion of mine is that Starship will likely never launch people to space. Starship has tremendous capability and I think it will revolutionize space exploration and exploitation. Carrying people however is not a strong suit for Starship (other than cost/kg) as there are safer ways to launch people to space and bring them back to Earth. However even if they do wind up launching people on Starship that is many years away, and can be done at other pads not just 39A, where it currently risks damaging the tower used for crew Dragon and Falcon Heavy. Like the sea launch barges that SpaceX purchased and later scrapped, I think the 39A Starship tower is not going to actually happen. I suspect it's relatively easy to remove the pieces from 39A and use them at one of their new pads, unless the designs have changed too much for the pieces to be of use.
