I have worked in the criminal justice system for over 27 years. I don’t consider myself liberal at all. But I have watched the system swallow up people. I have watched the innocent plea out of desperation. I have watched people lose their jobs and family because they can’t make bail. I have watched some 1st time offenders get leniency and the book thrown at others. I am in close proximity of public defenders and prosecutors and it’s shocking how they work together to decide the fate of real people. If you can’t afford a paid attorney, the outcome likely isn’t in your favor.

I worked in the shoddy haphazard "good 'ol boy" System too. I called it the Injustice System. One week a kid whose crime was being Stupid got 15 yrs--while a Mental patient who walked away from an Institution; got Violent when drunk and bought alcohol; went to visit a mother and daughter who had a Florist shop and had been kind enough to hire him for a job years earlier--and beat the old Mother with the wooden leg of a chair-- who was in a Coma in the hospital and eventually died--just sent him back to the institution he walked Away from and hitchhiked down the road! He got Nothing! Judges so full of Themselves and "the Law"--that literally at the end of a Trial--Tell the Jurors what to Do! You should see the look on their faces at some point in what he saying, like "Is He telling us what we should do!?--well why the heck am I, here!?" I made an Escape Olan and got out of there. Didn't even want to take the Record of or Listen to it, Any more. But in 2023 or earlier--they Should have solved this hanging Mystery by now, sith DNA or Genealogy from the Evidence room! And Why, Haven't they!? Shifty and Shameful.

I live here. I remember this very well. In fact, my ex inlaw house was raided. The only thing that saved him was that at the time that this happened, he was working out of state. I question sloppy police work. How does anyone not suspect someone in law enforcement if they have NO hard-core forensic evidence and rush to convict innocent people? How can anyone, a judge, jury send anyone to the death penalty without hard core forensic evidence? You can't!
@AdelineCowgirl
@AdelineCowgirl Рік тому
What do you mean IF he didn't do it?? Their main piece of "evidence" was the watch, which the police report clearly states didn't match. There was literally nothing to suggest he did it other than what obviously appears to be a false confession. There are countless cases where it was PROVEN that people falsely confessed, so a confession shouldn't even mean much. That's pretty screwed up if the only thing that bothers you is the real killer getting away with it. How effed is your head if it doesn't upset you when people deliberately falsify or hide reports, and physically beat someone to force them to confess, just so they can say they solved the case?? My gosh....

Not only does this happen. I used to not believe the stories when people would say I'm innocent I didn't do anything. Until I walked out my door half way up my block and was tackled. I had nothing in my possession except a few dollars. Not even 20 all together. Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. They arrested around 15 people that day . There was about 6 of us who literally was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Even my neighbor whom worked for the postal office was arrested. Now there was illegal activity going on . But not with everyone that was arrested. I was sentenced to 5 years probation for that. That 5 years turned into 11 from me violating. Postal worker was fired . And I was kind of stuck in my situation for me not having a paid lawyer. When you don't have a lawyer they appoint you a public defender that just so happens to be friends with the judge and the district attorney. How do you win in that situation. Especially when they come and tell you your facing 10 years jail time but they can get you probation. Mind you you will get this offer after sitting for months so you're already anxious to get out of jail. So you take the first deal they give you just because you want to go home. That's our Philadelphia system for you.

@@ashleysmashley2323 yup, like with most things but liberals do, they take things that are legitimate problems that need legitimate solutions and they go to the farthest extreme in the complete opposite direction.... Generally it ends up not solving the problem at all, but in a lot of cases actually makes it much worse on everyone..... But that's what happens when you raise a couple of generations and indoctrinate them to become radical liberals in public schools and colleges and to have a victimhood complex 24/7 and very low impulse or emotional control..... I still don't think they realize the monster they created, but they will soon since it's now turning around and biting them as we speak..... In a just system, even if they did initially arrest OP, a quick investigation and they should have set him free with an apology. But in this time frame, where the liberals frequently do exactly what I described above, they would have immediately released all 15 with no charges, including the 50% that OP said were actually breaking the law....

There is a part of this story that wasn’t ever told about this case. I and my mom know for a fact that Berry Lee didn’t kill that woman. I called the Little Rock Police Department and told them my name, phone number and about some key facts concerning Berry Lee Fairchild and they gave me the information to the Sheriff Department and I called them and gave them same information that I 😮had given to the police department to the Sheriff Department and I was told that someone would get in touch or contact with my mom and me and that they would pass that information to the proper person. I never received that call from them. The next thing we saw on the news was a badly beaten Berry Lee on the news, being charges for murder and rape of a military nurse and Robinson pinned this crime on Berry Lee ( the wrong person). The real murderer had gotten away with this crime. There was years of history with Tommy Robinson and Berry Lee, Robert Lee, Lilly Mae and of their smallest siblings. Their crime was alway patty thief or as Tommy Robinson put it nickels and dime ( crook) thieves. Berry Lee was not mild or retarded, this has always been a lie as well. Tommy Robinson is a bigot racist, he hated black peoples , this was a personal vendetta against the Fairchild brothers and Bill Clinton and others ( this case was a political) knew this about this Sheriff and his abuse of power, putting crimes on the wrong person and terrorizing black people in the black communities and forcing people to sign confessions that they didn’t do. We saw badly beaten up innocent Berry Lee and the charges pinned on him. Everyone who had taken parts in this man’s excursion is going to face an angry God with killing a person who was innocent of this crime and this man blood is on their hands. This was a horrible crime what happened to that young lady and I really felt the pain for her family but justice wasn’t served in her case. The wrong person was killed for her murder. The news also lied when they said that Berry Lee didn’t have any phone calls on that day before his execution as well. I hope that Life Time will make a movie out of this story. They can call it Hidden Facts in the Execution, of Berry Lee Fairchild! I am still waiting to tell my story.

I don’t think he killed her and the state, Governor Clinton, prosecutors, judges and police officers are all what they ultimately punished him for being. Murderers. The watch was different than her watch as seen in the note in withheld evidence and seems her family was never told that…if they were, as bad as it sounds to say, they are just as guilty as the rest of them. I know the pain of losing a loved one, you HAVE to have someone to blame and often the blame is misplaced. I think they just needed someone to blame and someone to pay for it so they could feel they got some form of Justice. This was just all wrong in so many ways and was likely due to some degree of racism. Just my two cents.

I am sorry that this young woman was murdered. committing a crime is always wrong. However treating a person with cognitive disabilities , the same as a normal person is ALWAYS wrong. Now I didnt know this young man or the extent of his abilities, but I do know a young man who had massive brain damage due to an aneurism. I was very very close to him and was like a second mother to him. It was a wonder he lived, they didn't think he would, but that said, he was never the same. He was more like an 11 or 12 year old child. This young man had had a very difficult life growing up, and was from a dysfunctional family. When he moved back in with his mother, ( after 3 years of recovering in hospitals and nursing homes,) they would fight, and she would get frustrated and scream at him, and smack him and call him a "retard". I could hear her screaming at him on the phone. One day he got angry and set the house on fire. He knew it was wrong, but due to the damage in the temporal lobe, consequences and impulse control were effected from the aneurism. His mom was fine and insurance built a new house, but my loved one went to prison, a real prison with murderers and rapists. This was his first ever offence period. We wanted him to serve in a minimum security facility or an institution. He was not a dangerous person normally. In fact he smiled all the time, told jokes and was very happy go lucky; He just couldn't handle the constant stress. His mom was a hoarder, and yelled at him all the time. He needed to be put into a group home or something like that. A stable ordered living situation. Anyway, a bit of extra background that's off topic I suppose. Well this young man 22 years old, was jumped in prison and killed, stabbed in the eye. Besides being cognitively disabled, he was also blind in one eye, paralyzed in one arm, and drug one leg. Do you think an adult with the mind of a child and various physical disabilities should be housed with extremely violent inmates? I would have never thought this could happen in the US, but it did happen; and no one did anything to help, no one stood up for him, no body called in Drs to testify as to his limitations, did no testing of his mental capacity, nothing. And I assure you there are thousands of people just like him in hard core prisons right now. Yes criminals need to be held accountable. But where do we draw that line?? More needs to be done. I dont think this man should have been put to death, I do think he should have served life, and he was most likely in the right place. My point is just, this bears thinking about. It could be your loved one?
@retromoviefan944
@retromoviefan944 Рік тому
the problem with putting someone like your loved one in a group home is that there's not very much supervision and a lot of these homes are in residential neighborhoods (which they shouldn't be). As an arsonist, he might have done it again and burned down the group home or a neighbors home. So unfortunately he needed to be in a locked down situation where he was supervised long term and completely off the streets. As you say, he also knew right from wrong, so it was more of an anger or impulse control situation with him. But it does sound like he should have had more testing done to be sure of the best place to put him, not in with ultra violent felons.

Yes, he was involved, and there needed to be accountability and justice for the victim, but he was in the car, and someone else pulled the trigger! I do not think justice has been served, it has been paid for with this man's very life, but the actual killer is still out there, why the hell has he not been brought to justice?! Why the hell have they stopped looking for the actual killer?! I think with the advancement in DNA technology and a new look at the case, they could still find the killer, and that would bring about the truth and maybe gain real justice in this case for both Marjorie 'Greta' Mason, and Barry Lee Fairchild. Please understand that I know that man was guilty, he just wasn't guilty of murder, as he was sitting in the car, and the watches were NOT THE SAME, BUT SIMILAR, and both the truth and actual justice, in this case, has yet to be obtained. It would be my hope that this case was reopened, and with fresh eyes, and advancement in DNA technology, that both the truth and actual justice be obtained. I'm sure there are organizations, somewhere that would be willing to take up this very important cause for both the truth and actual justice for the victim's Also, I don't believe in the death penalty, and please just hear me out. My goal would be to make the murderer/convicted felon/monster suffer, BUT once the murderer has been executed, his/her pain & suffering stops, this gives them a free get-out-of-jail/accountability card! It's all over for them, and life goes on, BUT if they receive life in jail without parole, for as long as they live, hopefully for a very long time, they are stuck in a cell, and their best day is when they get a visit from loved ones, or a conjugal visit, THAT'S AS GOOD AS IT CAN POSSIBLY GET FOR THEM! and to me, THAT IS PAIN & SUFFERING! When these monsters have been denied an entire life, but have to suffer through their new shitty life in jail, to me THAT IS JUSTICE! For rapists, and pedophiles especially, life in prison without the chance of parole is the perfect place for them because what society can't legally do, justice is obtained in jail through the rapists/pedophiles being brutally raped, controlled, and owned, being traumatized over and over again via regular and hopefully violent rapes! THIS IS exactly what they deserve, to actually know what their victim genuinely felt and suffered through, and they should feel this on a regular basis, to me this is justice, execution is again, just a get-out-of-jail/accountability card! I don't know why people can't see this? Also, this way if they get life in prison without the chance of parole, if they actually are innocent, it will be proven somewhere along the line and no one's life gets unjustly taken, as this is a mistake that cannot be rectified, and to just say oops, oh well, is not good enough anymore, but the actual monster can and should suffer the rest of their life in jail, and hopefully for a very long, long time. Oh, and yes, I know it would cost a lot of money, but the government would just piss away that money on less important things, somewhere else anyway. What do you guys think?

A lot of what you said makes sense but I am still for the death penalty bc there is always some chance of release with more liberal judges & lax sentences. While there are certainly brutal things that happen in prison high profile criminals simply end up in protective custody separated from the general population so they are not suffering as you as believe they are. People who prey on children & elderly forfeit their right to breathe the same air as everyone else.

I'm assuming you were not a poor black person growing up in those days and times. This is not the first or last time this happened. The beating usually wasn't what coerced a confession. The fear of the all powerful racists knowing where your momma lived, for example, would sometimes be enough. He didn't look scared because he had already accepted that he was going to die. He actually asked for death. Dying is one of the easier things to do in some situations.

@@heatherann1465 Your assumptions are misapplied. I didn't deny that racial miscarriages of justice happened, so keep your words out of my mouth. Okay? Thank you . I don't believe it happened here. I stand on my comment about this case. I do not generalize & sweepingly, apply similar assumptions over everyone's circumstances based upon race, simply because things were prevalent/popular, at certain times. I consider the possibilities & the evidence for each individual. Everyone today, seemingly, practices assuming racism in general, when it serves them. It is so popular, that bad folks are abusing/falsely claiming what used to be genuine racial discrimination, so much so, that those who are really victims are not taken seriously! This false confession card has become another beneficial & popular defense for criminals in a courtroom, as well. An overall understanding that because false confessions have occurred before, only an introductory, decorated doubt is necessary/required to free a murderer, (whether their version is genuine or not). I don't believe this guy genuinely, falsely confessed. I don't believe your 'racial crimes of the times' are applicable to his case, either. I think his defense attorneys did, however, try to use his skin color & the racial crimes of the times, for his benefit. And I wouldn't confess to a murder, no matter what, because I don't compromise truth. It isn't subjective to my feelings or anyone else's.

They said there was 13 suspects. The police didn't catch the guys they alleged ran from her car so where did they get thirteen suspects and how did they narrow them down? For anyone wondering how his sister got the watch, the police had her vehicle. There is no guarantee that the watch wasn't in the vehicle. I think the police did it. I don't think they were chasing her car. I think a police officer pulled her over and did this. There isn't any DNA evidence at all, fingerprints, nothing. She had a nice car with a Florida tag. Her windows appeared to be tinted. That's enough for a police officer to stop her. This case makes no sense. Did she visit any furniture stores at all?

What I learned from this: the phonebook method. I had been unaware of this technique, but apparently it's very effective- if you think physically hurting a person is somehow a reliable way to get the truth. But it's only a good way to get an admission. Police know this by now; interrogators in general ought to know this stuff, too (they do). It's just easier to seek a resolution than it is to untangle the truth; media and the public are blamed for wanting a quick resolution, but that's no excuse for doing things the wrong way.

"Studies estimate that between 4-6% of people incarcerated in US prisons are actually innocent. If 5% of individuals are actually innocent, that means 1/20 criminal cases result in a wrongful conviction." Police can legally lie to you during your interrogation but if you lie to them you can get jail time. Best advice I have ever heard if you are guilty get a lawyer. If you are innocent DEFINITELY get a lawyer. Too many people have been found guilty after a jury is told a biased circumstantial story lacking physical evidence and without reaching the standard of beyond reasonable doubt. Charging an innocent person is not justice. Another issue is the amount of profit courts and jails are making now.
