Still years later this song makes me tear up. We're failing our planet, failing ourselves, and failing serj... can we please do better.

The part of this video that hits me the hardest is that he says he believes that they are free when their time has come. That death is an escape from the world we've created.

I somehow have only just stumbled upon this song. My God, it is instantly one of the best songs I ever ever heard. I rarely get such an instant feeling of absolute emotion from a song. By the time the final chorus builds into its final, facemelting form, Serj is on another level. Just mesmerisingly sad, but amazingly uplifting - it makes you realise, just how beautiful life is, and how much we take it for granted, and how sad it is, that all the bad things in this world exist, when there is so much beauty, in the world.

I'm sorry that I found this 10 years after of its debut. I've been listening to it over and over again for the last months. It's a great and precise depiction of a greedy, blind and self-centered disease called humanity.
