These are seven brilliant points mentioned by Josh Cambell in the talk: 1. Don't let the preparation get in the way of a good story 2. You need not be funny 3. Don't let someone with no name determine your story 4. Make peace with your story 5. Start at the beginning; End at the ending 6. Don't go into too many details 7. Don't offend anyone

The key to a good story telling is not how to tell a good story, but how to avoid telling a bad story: 1. Be prepared but not too prepared. 2. You don’t have to be funny, because you are not. 3. Name names. If you can't use someone's name, they have power over your story. Don’t let someone with no name determine your story for you. 4. It is not a therapy session, then your audience won't be able to. It is not the audience' job to give you closure. You don’t want your audience to feel sympathy for you, you want them to feel empathy. If they feel sorry for you, they are thinking about you and your well being and not your story. Make peace with your story before you get on that stage. 5. Start from the beginning and end at the end. You have to trust your audience that they will get the lesson that you want them to get, or they will get the lesson they want to get. Don't rob them of that by telling the moral of the story. 6. The details are boring. Trust your audience. You are sharing human experiences and they will connect to you so skip the boring details. 7. The audience is on your side, keep them there. Don't make a controversial statement unless you have to. Don't offend you audience. Most IMPORTANT key: Sometimes details are important. Sometimes morals are necessary. Sometimes you have to offend your audience to make them listen. I can't tell you what your story is, and I can't tell you how to tell it. The only way you can do is with practice, go find a mic, get in front of an audience and find your voice. Be the hero of your own story, be the protagonist of your own story.

This is a great presentation. I would say that Good storytelling is a combination of various elements, but three key components contribute significantly to a compelling narrative: 1. Engaging Characters, 2. Strong Plot Structure and 3. Compelling Theme and Message. You must pay attention to them if you want to create a good story.

I do believe that the man has arrogance in him but that is simply something every man should have. Let me use an example to help explain. If you have something you believe in that you now is true by the facts and experience are you going to let some stranger from no where tell you your wrong. I think he is a great writer because he had the audience's attention. I know the video might have been boring for some of you but if that is the case it just means that this video wasn't for you. Everyone has there faults.

@eggfrijole
@eggfrijole Рік тому
I think it's kinda like... If ur still worried/trying to find ur "solution" of the story then don't present it to people bc they will just start feeling your worry kinda thing... But if you are like "yeah this is what's going on and its making me feel a certain way" but with like confidence of knowing you are still managing okay that will allow the other person to experience your story without feeling like they need to help? Bc I think if someone feels like they need to help then they're spending time in their own mind finding solutions rather than taking the time to simply just understand yours (?) :) Hope I kinda helped!!??
