I graduated law school and my mom and sister told me they were too busy to come to my graduation. We lived in the same city. The whole time I was thinking, y’all couldn’t request ONE day off to come. That crap was the final straw in me trying to have a relationship with them. Fast forward and my mom has dementia and she lives with me because I’m the only kid that is financially secure enough to take care of her. I’m not cool with my mom or my sister, but if one of them ever needed me, I’ll be there. Cutting out my mom completely would have been the reasonable thing to do, but I could never be that cold.

No one but Kobe and his parents know the truth.

First off this makes me so mad. Vanessa should be thankful to Kobe’s parents without them there would be no “Kobe Bryant” and with no Kobe Vanessa would be doing only fans right now ! This girl has never worked a day in her life and is worth $600m + Thanks to Kobe and his Parents !

To my understanding, Kobe didn't have a wedding. They had a ceremony only with Vanessa's Mom. I'm not sure about the relationship between Kobe and his parents, but during the inception of Kobe dating Vanessa, his parents worried about her age and not race. It's been years but “street talk” was that the couple met when Vanessa was 16. His parents were afraid he would or could eventually go to jail for statutory rape. The talk was that Vanessas Mom forced Kobe to marry her without a prenup or she would report the relationship to the police and he would lose it all anyway. Please note this is only “street talk”. Today we know that history especially among celebrities, can come back and take your life. It was common knowledge that Vanessa was in high school and underage. The Bible says to honor your Mother and Father and your days will be long. No material possessions sold could keep me from honoring my parents. Great people and accomplishments don't come without sacrifice. Vanessa and her children live with Kobes's father's last name. It would only be right to honor his parents. It's an opportunity to teach your kids what love and forgiveness is. Vanessa forgave Kobe during a bad time in their marriage. I believe if Vanessa wants to meet her “Boaz” her heart must change. Why live rich and be in spiritual and emotional war watching both sets of parents suffer at a time such as this? RIP Kobe and may God restore the entire family. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Kobe’s parents sold the ring back when Kobe was still alive. They had hundreds of items for sale. It’s the people who bought the ring back in 2011 (can’t remember what year it was). Kobe had a lawyer try and stop it , but his mother had been advanced $450,000. Kobe got back all but six items from his parents, and the ring was one of the items auctioned off back then. The person who bought it then is the one who auctioned it off now.

Right now, the kids only have their mother's perspective. If the girls get a chance to see Kobe's dad and his resemblance to Kobe, I imagine they'd want to build a relationship with the grandparents. Think about it, the grandparents can provide the kids with untold stories about they're dad they have no knowledge of.

No man gonna ever make me cut off my parents. I may be mad for a couple of days. But, for years? Kobe was hard.
