Just because a nation have an increase in it's gdp doesn't defacto mean that the economy of said nation is healthy. And vice and versa for a GDP decreasing. Germany and western Europe economies in general are in way better shape than the Russian economy. And I would like to add that with the recent events of Ukraine targeting Russian oil depots and oil refineries I would like to see which results it will have on the Russian economy and it's gdp.
