I don’t think the course is made to be hard to complete. But you need a lot of balance and control to conserve momentum in order to do it fast. Like, jumping over walls/bars one by one is easy, jumping across the top of them without hurting yourself is hard, but would be a lot faster.

My "toxic trait" is wondering who's really "moving" fast? They were neck and neck at the halfway point (the other player only a half step behind), and that "other player" was only 3 to 5 steps behind at the finish. Where's the breakneck speed? (Faster than any other in the world?) Nowhere, the other runner is 4 steps behind and going to catch her if one misstep. That's what my cynical self ("toxic trait") says. Where?

As someone with short legs we’re definitely disadvantaged with height of some of those jumps 😆
@LiquidPurple
@LiquidPurple 8 місяців тому
@@Joanna-gg4qx Depends how short too, I'm 5'6 or 5'7 and it hasn't been a disadvantage any time in my long years of parkour training when it comes to jumps. Being tall gives you a better reach with your arms tho, but also harder to get your legs on top of obstacles. Overall I'd say being a bit shorter is better in parkour :3

Parkour is similar to racecar driving in that when someone looks like they're moving kinda slow, they're actually moving really fast. Our eyes are conditioned to perceive wild, erratic movements as speed, so smooth controlled movements without rapid micro-adjustments seem slower. She was super smooth and in control of her movements.

That can actually be an objective statement and not critical/antagonistic. These movements are more challenging for female physiology and so they are not beautifully flawless. This is not to disregard her capability, effort, and performance. It’s just nature. Either way these are basic physical skills that we should all have in order to describe ourselves as “fit” so let’s all get busy moving instead of just watching and commenting. 🤸

@@adr2567First of all, how does that answer anything I said? I'm allowed to make comments about something or say that something can be done better without actually BEING to be able to do better myself. "Okay then you do better" is not a valid argument Secondly, in answer to your question, because I don't have access to such a course. I wouldn't even know where to find one. If I had one, I actually COULD do better, but )even if I couldn't, my previous comment would still be true, and )I don't have one so it doesn't matter anyway
