Ship 28 sits on Suborbital Pad B after removal from Booster 10. It is unclear if the Ship will undergo more testing, work, or checkouts prior to its flight on IFT-3. Also a new parking lot was torn up, potentially making way for the second launch tower at the Orbital Launch Site.

@@bryanillenberg china is also having companies develop rockets much like us. And yes, they are still well behind SpaceX as I believe, they just barely developed a portal type much like SpaceX did with Hopper back around 2018. But make no mistake, China and their companies are testing their prototypes much quicker than our six month in between testing as they are slowly, but surely closing in the gap. Artemis three has already been pushed back to late 26 and even that timeline is unrealistic given how many more tests NASA is gonna have to require SpaceX of doing. and if it’s gonna take SpaceX and the approval of the FAA every 5 to 6 months to do these tests, then it’s gonna be a lot later than 2026 before we see our guys on the south pole of the moon. we definitely want to get there before China, so no, I’m not gonna “relax” and neither should SpaceX or NASA or anyone else.

I really believe with booster roll back some kind of internal or external damage was done to booster. Or potential damage they want to check on more closely. Damage during loud crash stack. Watched many stacks, never heard anything near that loud, though I’m certainly no expert. Could be something that didn’t show up until they started doing fueling for WDR (dislodged/damaged piped connector, etc)

Witam,już przeszło 3 lata oglądam boca chica z polski i muszę powiedzieć z wielkim podziwem obserwuję niezwykłą wytrwałość i stanowczość w budowie potęgi kosmicznej Ameryki.

You’re mistaken on the FAA; even Elon has said most of the so-called ‘delays’ are due to SpaceX, not FAA. What IS a legitimate concern is that the FAA Commercial Space Transportation Office us been underfunded for years (decades) now; the number of launches/entries is increasing hugely…but Congress STILL refuses to raise that office’s budget to match demand. There are, right now, only 140 total people in that office for ALL functions; they easily need twice that many. The problem is Congress going forward; FAA, itself, is not really the problem per se. - Dave Huntsman

Just because we have not seen any new section does not mean they are not already on order. So far only the pieces of the Florida tower have been delivered and that was designed before the stretch of SS was decided. It would be so easy to add to the new tower now to accommodate needed changes. Then tower 1 can be modified later to match.

21:30 The vertical trusses are supporting both the roof and the bridge crane beams. One failure mode for I-beams in compression is torsion, for which these trusses are quite stiff in that aspect. However, I keep expecting to see further bracing of the [heavier] I-beam component of the trusses that will support the bridge crane. Has anyone found such attachment points? Do you think the exterior cladding will provide enough stiffening?

@basbekjenl
@basbekjenl Місяць тому
Did you know that solar panels in general are quite heavy and adding weight to the roof makes it more vulnerable. Boca Chica Texas sees some tropical storms and high winds. If you can install the solar panels on the ground then why would you put them on the roof? It doesn't make sense to install solar panels on the roof when you have a lot of land you can use instead.

Note the rust on that building's external bracing at 6:00 in the video. Whenever I see that building design, it reminds me of the decision to not build a flame trench for the most powerful rocket ever built. Was that another Musk design? Who thought that putting steel exposed to constant salt mist, when the beams could be protected inside the exterior panels, was a good idea? In 4 years, those buildings will look like all those abandoned factories in the Midwest Rust Belt. At least that site will be a bonanza for scrap dealers, if the whole site gets abandoned. I wonder who will be responsible for tearing all that thick concrete up and removing it? That won't be cheap. Of course, only a few scientists will ever live on Mars, since it has no atmospheric oxygen or liquid water. Lack of sources of energy will be a problem too. Reflect on how much electrical and oil (gasoline) energy you use every day. Mars has none of that - zero, nada, zilch... and no way to make any. How about the amount of water you consume in a month. It is a lot more than you think, and it is virtually free compared to the tens of thousands of dollars a month it would cost on Mars, if you could even find any. There are no rivers or rain on Mars. Try to find a big city not on a river, or sitting on a giant oil or gas deposit to do desalination. Bet you can't. But it is fun to watch, & is employing people at good wages. So keep it up & hope that Elon makes it to 100.
@ericpaul4575
@ericpaul4575 2 місяці тому
The rust is on the high bay. I think it next up for tear down and enlarging. It was too small as soon as they moved in. So it does not make sense to keep up with the paint if you are going to demo it soon.

@bryanillenberg 2 місяці тому
"Whenever I see that building design, it reminds me of the decision to not build a flame trench for the most powerful rocket ever built. Was that another Musk design? " A flame trench wouldn't work at Boca, because you'd be blasting exhaust at either the orbital tank farm, beach, or wetlands. "At least that site will be a bonanza for scrap dealers, if the whole site gets abandoned. I wonder who will be responsible for tearing all that thick concrete up and removing it? That won't be cheap." The site won't be abandoned. So no need to worry. "Of course, only a few scientists will ever live on Mars, since it has no atmospheric oxygen or liquid water." I don't think Starship is capable of creating a city on Mars. But It could easily build a permanently crewed base of 100-200 on Mars. Water can be produced locally too (there is "plenty" available, all you have to do is melt it). "Lack of sources of energy will be a problem too. Reflect on how much electrical and oil (gasoline) energy you use every day. Mars has none of that - zero, nada, zilch... and no way to make any." Solar Power is less efficient on Mars than here, but it still works. And if that isn't enough, Nuclear Reactors are just as efficient on Mars as they are on Earth. "But it is fun to watch, & is employing people at good wages" Couldn't agree more.
