I had similar thoughts on Norvell. his track record says he is a good coach, but if not for the transfer portal and Jordan making an insane out of nowhere jump in his development as a passer. Norvell would have already been fired. So i don't blame him for his statement.

I agree... the SEC and BIG Ten cannot dominate college football with 16 teams each...probably not even with 20 teams each... so they either KEEP on expanding, or they do not dominate the sport. But FSU and Clemson are pretty much near the top for any expansion, so they will be fine ultimately. FSU is simply being honest about the current situation, admitting what most others know.

Head coaches don't decide what conference an entire University plays in. He is quoted as saying that he thought they would be headed to the SEC and the administration chose the ACC. AFTER that he of course got on board and used rationale to explain why the ACC was a good choice for them. He also never said they could never win in the SEC, but that he "didn't know if we could have made it through the SEC".

THis is incorrect. FSU wanted to join the SEC for years before the ACC. Florida kept them out. It was only when they had accepted the ACC invite did SEC offer and it was too late then.

The acc might be in a different position if Miami was actually good. They are a ratings force when they’re actually good. Acc should of also done everything they could have to add notre dame. Let them keep their nbc deal but get them in the conference. They should have also added West Virginia and UCF when they had the chance. In the end you need good football teams in your conference and both of those teams could have provided clemson and Florida state with ranked regular season matchups to boost tv ratings.

We need 6 or 7 schools to find a home they’re happy with outside the ACC so the conference can be dissolved and Grant of rights abolished. If Big 12 can get enough revenue to match ACC then it’s a sideways move for schools leaving the ACC but not a pay cut (think middle tier ACC schools). Upper tier could join SEC/Big10. Lower tier, idk.

Assuming they’re able to immediately join the SEC $120 million exit fee would be completely reimbursed after 4 years because SEC schools make $30m more per year than ACC schools just based on the conference agreement
