What makes your channel most interesting to me, is your verbalizing exactly what you are doing with the throttles, transmissions, and tiller. The delay in barge response to your input really helps us feel the weight of what you're pushing. You've got a great, laid back, style. Keep it up!

Another great clip Captain , smooth as silk with not only skinny but narrow to boot. Where we pump out I have to turn around a 50 foot 180 degrees in about 60 foot of space, I always choose a calm no wind day to do it, the admiral is always freaking out thinking I'm going to scratch one of the other boats in the basin. Great to see City Dock from the river. Sad to see Gulf Oil gone. We used to take a barge load of sulfuric acid to Gulf on a regular basis. Watch out for the goats at City Dock!

At an early age, my Dad taught me that "more is not always better". So like you, I have to be patient when it comes to driving a loaded semi truck down a mountain. The urge is there to "give it the gas", but that's a good way to die. Before I crest the top, I have to decide what gear to be in for descending so the the engine "Jacobs" brakes will maintain a safe speed for me going down the mountain. When I get near the bottom, it's safe to upshift and build back up to a safe cruising speed. As for the Philly harbor area, I always enjoyed landing at the airport from the north as the landing approach takes you right over the deck of the John F. Kennedy CVA-67 so low that you can see the deck out both sides of the plane at the same time. My Dad served on the Independence CVA-62 in group W, a designation that no longer exists on carriers. Sadly, the Indy was scrapped along with all the other Saratoga class carriers.

I fly out of the PHL FBO on Enterprise Ave and on my way can see you guys sitting there from the double decker 95 bridge. Next time Ill pull over from the bridge and blast your theme music from the bridge to say hello. MMG 100T NC

@4:29 - Fair warning for anyone new to sugar alcohols in sugar free candy - if you're body isn't used to it, you're going to have some gastrointestinal distress to think about. The upside to going ultra-low carb cannot be enumerated enough though. You body will adapt to sugar alcohols in a week or two.

Yepper that 0600 watch..one huge coffee. The second watch at 18...gallons of tea with lemon...even on the beach. Sleep undisturbed until next watch at 0600. Here's a hint for a kick. Got me through the afternoons at a desk job. A cup of coffee with a half pack of "Swiss Miss" instant hot chocolate mixed into the coffee😮😮

FWIW, VHF Channel 83A is USCG Sector Delaware Bay’s working channel for aircraft. It is nationally designated for the USCG as well as 21A, 23A, and 81A. You might want to look for another.

If you're going to indulge, at least stop at Hershey's since they're nearby but I'd suggest some of the real good stuff. Hey Tim , schuylkill is old Dutch. I means in translation, shelter-channel ( as you have explained the word Kill’s before) Schuyl is in English “to shelter” . It’s hard for Americans to speak the “SCH” . Speak / pronunciation as Shk. Also the Ui is hard as in English nobody uses that. Think about the racing driver Arie Luyendijk. The Luy is like Ui. Try to make it into schuyendijk in stead of Luyendijk. Then try … sch uy L Kill. Note: that Dijk is dyke pronounced like “ women in comfortable shoes ( according Robin Williams movie ) 😂 Nou you got a story to share with your mates and have good laughs

Idid have one question but then i kind of figured it out but let me know if im on the right track. when you had the assist tug pullin you off and tied up nearly mid way maybe. I noticed you said you kept youre rudders at mid ship. Ithught to myself well why the heck would he do that i always need my rudder hard starb or hard port wen lifting off.... but then i was like oh crap the assist tug is almost mid way down the bardge. So if you had put say 20/30 degrees starb you would have bin working against him and because of where he is positioned you might of sent the aft end of the bardge towards the dock????.. i think im on the right track.. thats what made sense to me anyway lolol. always love youre videos and have been a fan for a long time. Cap, there is a slight but important structural difference between caffeine in coffee and caffeine in tea. I am sensitive to caffeine in coffee but not that in tea. I can drink as much tea as I want and not get wired. I learned this the hard way. I had a DD medium regular and a bagel with cream cheese before I had my annual physical. Bad move... the coffee increased my heart rate to the point my PCP got concerned.
