Next Up for Top Rank Boxing, WBC/WBO/IBF light heavyweight king Artur Beterbiev now has a date to defend his crown. After recent dental surgery forced Beterbiev to postpone his Aug. 19 title defense against former world champion Callum Smith, the two will now meet Saturday, Jan. 13 at Videotron Centre in Quebec City, Canada.
#beterbievsmith and the co-feature will be televised live on ESPN. Undercard action will stream exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+.

Big respect to Murdock's trainer for calling it off. Enjoyed this one, but I'd seen enough. Glad for everyone to be able to go home to their families. Mbilli is amazing; reminiscent of a young Iron Mike with those angles.

As an Aussie, agree 100%. Murdock showed great heart but, to be frank, Mbilli a class above. He's ready for the top boys.

I think Mbilli is going to struggle mightily whenever he gets in with a good counterpuncher, but damn is this man fun to watch. Mbilli - Munguia would be absolutely ridiculous.

Mbilli is custom made for Canelo. Keeps his hands down after throwing. One- dimensional. Can't punch unless his feet are set. Murdock looks like a bulked up Chris Algieri. Monster chin and heart.

What a fight! Mbilli is someone to watch. That's why he's ranked number 4 right below Canelo, Benavidez, & Plant. I think he would beat Palnt too. He needs a good promoter who could help him get to the big fights and big purse.

No he would not beat plant. He throws the same looping shots, squares up and doesn't jab, nor moves his head for defence. Plant would box circles around him and probably even stop him. Mbilli is trash technique-wise. Murdock had plenty of opportunities to catch him walking in if he'd only used his jab. Mbilli is like an early David Lemieux (minus the one punch KO power); squares up, both feet planted, and throws bombs. We know what happened to Lemieux when he stepped up in competition.

Murdock clearly has the skill but doesn't have the IQ; what a silly fight on his part; it was obvious what MBilli was doing, and it looked like Murdock was waiting for Mbilli to fatigue, using his face to block punches. hard to watch a man allow himself to be punished like that. His corner should have thrown in the towel earlier. Congrats to Mbilli.

Sometimes awkward can be enough to get you places, add in speed and power and you are off to a quick start. Not saying Mbilli won't reach a title because boxing allows guys to get there who are not refined fighters. I wish he was at this stage at 23 years old. Some times Boxing needs the new James Thunder, Mugabi, or even a 18 year old kid from the Catskills. The hopes for success will only keep us watching... Good Luck Kid.

Mbilli was looking mid tier at best, not elite. He was getting tagged with flush shots by his rando opponent. And he doesn't pack much one punch power either, he was landing his best shots yet his opponent was still firing back. Meanwhile he looked tired and sloppy by the mid rounds.

This is how fights should be decided! Get out there and fight with what you have in your arsenal! Both guys were tough! For the other comments about the skills and what should of been done in the fight , just save it! I would rather watch two fighters give their all than watch some fighter run from punches 12 rounds and say they are the best in the world! Wake up, please!
