Senhit’s song last year was about sexuality and sexual liberation, it’s part of her brand. Same with her Heartache single

The idea behind the stand in rehearsals is that the tech crew can rehearse all the cameras, lights, stage, props, mics, vfx and so on. They make a video for each country and the countries can watch them and see if their idea works on the big stage and they can change stuff in advance. This is all done before even the countries are there. With these stand in rehearsals they have less stress and work during the acutal performers.

@@alextruong1687 yes and to answer the question who these stand-ins are. They are students at Codarts in Rotterdam (which is a well known school in Rotterdam for musicians, dansers and artists to be).

@@KevinAustin9 The dancing can be different, as long as the blocking (i.e. who is standing in what position) is roughly the same. Tweaks will be made all the way until the final performance.

I don't think Italy has one since I guess these stand ins are for the dancers to practice. Maybe also for the camera but you notice all the videos of stand in rehearsals are with dancers

See Portugal Sobral's stand-in rehearsal - it's just one man. Stand-in rehearsals are more about camera angles, well combining of music with stage performance and again, camera angles & synchronization! Those rehearsals are most of the cases done for the camera and light crew :) so that the original artists don't have to perform that often (or to replace when the artists are not available at scheduled time, like in sickness cases) . So they take stand ins to practice Instead if it's only for the "around factors"

Maybe I'm a bit late with my answer, but actually the stand in rehearsals are done, before the delegations travel to the host country. They are done with professionals from the host Country and are there for testing technical things, like camera ankles and all. These rehearsals get sent to each of the countries, so they already can do changes, before starting their rehearsals with the artists, so it is easier to change things. Hope I explained it right :)

From the ESC wiki: "Stand-ins are young musicians and high school students from the host city of a particular year's contest. Their job is to perform the entries as intended, not only to assist the technical team in regards to lighting, camera angles and visuals, but also to act as a guide for the participants prior to arriving for their first rehearsals."

I assume you don't know how shows like this work so I won't get too upset about you calling these people "clowns" but they were never going to perform. These hardworking, thankless people learn the entire dance so that the crew (lighting, stage hands, camera, etc) can rehearse without needing the actual singer present. They will never perform it professionally, only for the benefit of us as viewers so we can have the most aesthetically pleasing final performance.

Of course I know how these shows work, I am not hating on them because they stand in for the singers, I think they are clowns for what they are wearing and their attitude they show off, it's so similar to the style my fellow school comrades dress, that I hate those outfits also
