I wrote my own program using Node.js and Strava API to download my activities into a spreadsheet. It was a fun.

I still use an edge 800. :(. Paired with my 935 it works well during triathlons. I use my 935 as the main data recorder but the 800 provides a large display, much better than looking at a watch with only 4 data fields. I can't justify having a Garmin 935 and another expensive head unit

Hi Shane, one "technical" comment to the way how you have presented the files on MacOS. There is a feature called "QuickLook". And this exactly called "Quick" because on more popular files (photos, or csv) it's just enough to press space bar to invoke it. No need to go to context menu. Otherwise - very informative video, thanks for this!

Exported gpx contains power data. I know back in the day it didn't, but now it does. Info on the site is contradicting itself (first it claims it does contain power meter data then it clearly claims something opposite). This must be remnant from the old days or some confusion between power meter data and estimated power.

I still use my Garmin edge 800 . Although Garmin doesn’t update it any more.

What are some of the useful analysis sites to bulk upload your strava data?

Hi, recently Strava changed their API so now synching strava with golden cheetah doesn’t seem to work. Now I’ve reverted to manually attempting to bulk export my files from strava using the method described in the video. However, the bulk export seems to provide the data in a compressed format with *.gz at the end. A format that says is supported on golden cheetah but doesn’t actually seem to be supported. So I download a .gz decompressor (7-Zip) and tried decompressing the files. The files were decompressed and I was able to get them into golden cheetah. But, the data is very wonky. Their are very many outliers, including incorrect time, date, duration data etc. Do you know how I can fix this or what I can do?

I notice that the files downloaded are .fit.gz files (for example). Are these a compressed files? Is there any was to easily make these useable?

Do the gpx now includes elevation? Can we use strava gpx exported file to use and replicate the ride on the wahoo bolt/kickr?

My Edge 800 is still working and I am not convinced the new ones are any more reliable ( just more features that eat battery power or are of no use to me.) When it dies I will replace it but not before.

Hi Shane, if anyone knows the answer to this question, it’s you! I have just made the jump to go back to Garmin to the 830 from the Bolt. I have started a new Garmin account and looking to upload Strava history into Garmin Connect. I have completed the bulk export from strava and have successfully uploaded the .fit and .gpx files but it won’t import any of the .tcx files. I think these might be a mix of TrainerRoad rides. Any tips...can I convert to .fit?

Question: Can you do a Strava vid on what their new programs they are offering for monthly fees? I don't understand the changes from premium.

This was helpful to me. All those "Delete" messages from Strava had me concerned.

Does this mean that I could record an activity on the Strava app and they will synch it with my training peaks account?? Or is that wishful thinking still??
