But they can only schedule about a week out which translates to between seven hundred and a thousand miles between when I call in and when they get it.

It would have been cheap and easy to fix it while you had it apart

@@chadvanryn1327 I only had the valve cover off, to do the timing chain it would be a lot more work, And the valve cover took me like 5mins to take off. I did it at work on my day off so my car had to be running in an hour or two. Most timing chain jobs you just pull the engine out its usually the fastest way. Im not sure if you know what it takes to replace a timing chain but it is neither cheap nor easy🤣 I dont have a subaru by way maybe its easier because its right at the front. I have a 2.5 mazda 3 and most shops quote about 6hrs for the job.

@@bigmike4923 look into slack adjusters, they are a plastic part in the timing case, there plastic and cheap, your timing chain is probably just fine but the plastic wears out
