I believe that we're ALL hoping for that. I can tell this game is amazing, but I never owned a Wii U. It was a flop but still had some great games. So I'm glad that Nintendo is porting because it's allowing great games to get the credit that they deserve. I'm kinda surprised that they haven't done this one by now though but they did Mario Kart 8 & NSMBU so hope and pray!!! It would be AMAZING to play both this game AND Super Mario Odyssey :-) & it would seriously help Nintendo!!

@@Alex-oc1fu Well 3D Land is for the 3DS. It's not as good as 3D World, which is an upgraded version of 3D Land, the sequel after working out the kinks. It's pretty nice too though & so I was quite disappointed when I saw that I couldnt get it on the 3DS either

I know right, ice been playing Nintendo games for almost 13 years now(I'm almost 17) and from every Mario game I've played, each one gets better and better. Mario 3D world had to be the best Mario game ever in my opinion. A ton of worlds, many many stages that all felt brand new from each other. and that final level against bowser have me chills! This is an absolutely amazing game!

I'm on the same side as you on this matter but it's really not the winning side if they don't sell enough consoles. They won't be able to continue making games purely on the premise that mario and zelda are still the best games out there. I think nintendo should just stick with the handheld and then go into just software for main consoles. If they were selling mario on the ps4 and xbox one, they'd sell a ton.

Dude that will never happen. Yes the handhelds on Nintendo always sell. But if you honestly think that Mario should be sold to Playstation and Microsoft then you are crazy.

Well not sold TO them. Nintendo would keep control of the IPs, they'd just release them on all consoles. It's not at all crazy, it's essentially what happened to Sega. It depends on how the sales in the next 5 years pan out. If you think that a console is about the price of 5 games, if the xbox and ps4 combined sell more than 5 times the wiiU (which looks likely at the moment), it'll start to look like a very appealing option. (there are obviously a lot more factors involved, but that's the general outline financially)

Mario on playstation and Xbox? Yeah keep dreaming. And Nintendo has a lot more than just 5 games. And it even has more in store for us in 2014. Besides you don't see playstation porting over Killzone 4 do you. You don't see Xbox porting over halo do you? Playstation decided to port over kingdom hearts 3 and final fantasy 15 to Xbox 1 but not the Wii U. So why should Nintendo port over Mario

There's no use just saying "keep dreaming". You could've said the same about sonic in the early 90s. It all comes down to the money, nothing more. And you missed the point of what I was saying. I wasn't saying they only have 5 games. I was saying that if they could sell more than 5 times as many games by releasing on ps and xbox, they'd be doing better financially than if they stick with their own consoles. If it gets to that point, any other arguments you want to make just become irrelevant.

+Edgar ortiz How? The Galaxy games were a ton more linear than 64 or Sunshine. Yeah they each had a hub world(both hub worlds were tiny compared to the ones in 64 and Sunshine, and you don't get any stars from the hub worlds in the Galaxy games) and a couple levels here and there that were kinda sorta open ended but 98% of the game was pretty much just flying from tiny planet to tiny planet. Don't get me wrong, I love both Galaxy games, I loved them enough to get every single star in both games. Linear games can be a just as good as open ended games, I'm just confused as to why people think the Galaxy games are as open ended as 64 or Sunshine.

***** I refuse to believe the notion that Mario should remain with restricted paths and linear levels because "that's what Mario is." Clearly it wasn't with Mario 64 and Sunshine, with Miyamoto *directing* Super Mario 64 himself. Mario is about running and jumping through strange and wacky worlds and defeating Bowser. That's it. Mario was about this in Super Mario Bros., and that gameplay was evolved throughout its successors. Then came Mario 64 where Miyamoto wanted to rethink this overall concept of traveling through levels and beating Bowser, and he did with Mario 64. I find the whole "Mario MUST be linear, that's just the way it always was" pretty restricting. And I do like what they did with the 3D Mario concept in Super Mario 64 and Sunshine. They just didn't take it much further because… they really only experimented with it in two games. I think they could really flesh things out a lot more if they simply sat down and *tried* a little harder. While the Galaxy concept was fun… it was just too linear. Too restrictive. I like the action-focus a lot, but I also like the feeling of jumping through a large, open Super Mario-style world. I've always felt like prior Mario games, especially Super Mario World, were about traversing through strange lands and getting to Bowser. I'd love to see this in a more open-ended format in a future Mario game. I think it's simply premature to say "the open-ended 3D format isn't good, they should stick with what they're doing because it works, and nothing else ever will." That's just close-minded, and it's the reason why their most recent games have gotten so stale.
