Green sand moulding is used for casting of traditional iron box and other things such as bushes etc in our village. Mannar ,Kerala is well known as bronze village. Here urli nilavilakk are made by lost wax method. Happy to see this moulding vedio.. keep doing,,🥰🥰

I recall these basic techniques from my 1st year engineering days..ah fun labs. People who don’t know about forging/casting basics think casting requires something hi tech but no it doesn’t and same principles apply even in the highest tech automated factories if they use sand casting.

What is the purpose of burning lighter fluid on the finished sand form? Does it firm up the mold?

مفروض يستعمل بخاخ للرش ويفضل يكون اسبيرتو سريع الاشتعال وملاحظه اخرى يفضل قبل ان يرفع القالب من الرمل يستعمل فرشاة ميلله بالماء ويضع على حافاة القالب كي يتجنب خروج المعدن وتظهر زوائد ويضطر لبردها بعدين
