Robert, who runs Clackeys, explains to us how he designs unique keycaps inspired by video games and pop culture, treating the surface of a key as his canvas. As an amateur 3d modeler it's really interesting to see someone so talented 3d printing then painting crazy key cap designs. Really want to get into it when I can afford a good 3d printer. Messing around with printing angles to get the right printout sounds lame though.

@@kevinj9942 Agreed on the pricing. The more I looked into it though, the less I was into his style in the video. My favourite artisan makers are jellykey and some of dwarf-factory's stuff. All artisans having a super expensive limited time group buy model is dumb though.

Maybe the next generation of keyboards will let you design the key caps itself and which type of switches you want with it. It will be amazing to see people lineup for their designs to be saved and be manufactured later on.

check the mechanical keyboard subreddit. most artisan keycaps are sold through small batch raffle sales, meaning you need to sign up for a raffle, then the seller messages you and you pay through paypal. It's kind of difficult to get what you want because most of the time, artisan makers don't have proper website shops, or when they do, their sales go up at certain times and sell out very very fast.

They dont seem to have a full set, only single keys. And also, it would be nice if they're made out of metal. Razer got the metallic keys but only supports wasd.

+Bella Nicola if u want a full set of keys your keyboard choice is gonna get in the way because razed and corsair boards have a non standard bottom row meaning that the keys on the bottom are different lengths than usual

As far as I know, Kalih are made to match Cherry MX switches, so anything made for MX should fit a Kalih (except for box Kalihs, but those aren't as common). Same goes for Gateron, Zealio, Outemu, and I think a few other switches.

Reddit /r/mechanicalkeyboards has everything you need to know if u want to get one I suggest the Anne pro for a nice 60% ( no numpad, arrow keys, or F-keys you can still use the keys by pressing function + other keys)
