Because we, the people, chose to participate and vote on candidates that should never be elected because we feel we MUST vote for someone. If we all just refused to vote for any candidate that runs by smearing, any candidate that does bullshit politician speech to say absolutely nothing, if we refuse to vote for those that will lie to us, abuse their elected power, I think we might be moving in the right direction. But until then, I stand of the opinion that democracy will never work in any way that's not a train wreck at best. and downright holocaust bad at worst.
