I love how people say Rafa is just a clay courter when he’s won an Olympic gold on hard court, and has a 5-4 record vs Djokovic and Federer in hard court slams. Without clay, he would have 8 slams, same amount as legends such as McEnroe and Agassi. When you look at Djokovic, he’s a hard court specialist. Take away hard court slams for him, he’s won 10 slams. And he’s been helped by the fact that there’s been no Rafa at the French and no competition at Wimbledon. Whereas Rafa always had Federer or Djokovic in the finals of everything.

Djoker is the Goat of weaker era, and it tells you just by the fact that he won 12 slams after crossing 30 years of age. Almost every GS in 2023, he literally had the easiest path to semi-finals and finals. Yes, he's one of the greatest players and played his best from 2011 to 2018 against the tough competition, but he has been extremely lucky afterwards. Whereas Nadal faced prime Federer and prime Djokovic while being injured throughout his entire career and still managed to win 22 slams. He couldn't even participate in 14 GS because of his injuries. So in my humble opinion Nadal is the GOAT.

Your statement is half correct. Novak is the GOAT and Rafa is clearly the best clay court player of all times. But when it comes to grass and hard court, Rafa is not even in the top 7. Outside of the French Rafa has won Wimbledon twice, US open 4 times and the Australian open twice (with his title last year was clearly a result of Novak not being there. Otherwise he would have lost to Novak in the quarter finals in straight sets. How do we know? Rafa hasn't won a set from Novak Djokovic in 10 years. Only twice he was able to take Novak to a tie break.) Both Sampras and Federer are much better players on hard court and Grass. It's not even close. Rafa avoided playing Federer and Novak on hard courts for years to make sure their H2H records have a disproportionate number of matches on clay. it worked with Federer who couldn't beat Nadal on clay but it didn't work with Novak as well as he had hoped.
