Since its inception in 2009, the red ball series has had a very interesting and unique history. Likewise, the speedrunning scene that surrounds it contains events, strategies, and stories that may be somewhat unknown or hidden to casual observers. In 2021, a Red Ball Speedrunning iceberg was created in order to collect these various aspects and topics, ordered from most known to least. Moving down the layers, the light from the sun shines dimmer and dimmer, as the relative knowledge of the topics becomes more sparse. In the first part of this series, we analyzed just the first three layers of this iceberg, the surface, while this part will aim to explain the bottom three layers, the depths.

I've found a glitch in red ball 4 that doesn't do something in a speed run. 1. Go to a level 2. Pause the game 3. Press the dots in the pause menu and at the waiting tap many times the retry button. If you hear the retry sound congratulations you did it. The only thing that will happen is that some graphics will glitch out and all the gold metals will be missing. However you can fix it by re-enter a level. (Only works on mobile versions)

While I don't speedrun myself, I do enjoy watching speed runs. Mainly ones of Mario from places like GDQ, but your presentation and clear passion for such a simple flash game makes the videos extremely interesting and I always look forward to them. Is any of the information useful to me? No. Will i watch anyways because it'a fascinating? Yes

I remember playing the harder version of the laser phase in boss 4 of red ball mobile, it was so rage inducing. Could've been 1 or 2 layers higher on the iceberg though? Idk

15:40 Suprisingly, Friv's version of Red Ball Hero actually performs like Red Ball 3, having all 20 levels and all the glitches, including the pause on top of the boss to save a lot of time

How much work/effort has been put in to understanding the RB2 Level 13 Checkpoint occurrence, and examining the obfuscated code? I’m not the best, but I might be able to help, and seems like a fun project. Also, is there a RB discord? Or is your discord sort of used as one.

In the moon bossfight, the lasers now move again instead of just closing in, however the last phase of the boss was nerfed to where the boss no longer changes your gravity each time he jumps, only changes gravity when hit.

I have a theory for Raindrop. Based off the image, Raindrop was probably a game where u had a small tall glass and it was raining so u had to collect the raindrops with the glass.

Weirdly enough, whilst only being a casual player I knew about the lasers being removed. I was like: ''What the hell is going on?! When I last fought this boss, it's lasers were the hardest part yet, and why the Heck it just moves like this?!'' As you can tell by this word-to-word transition, I was really, *REALLY* Confused. I thought that the game code had trouble running the mobile laser and just lagged this part out (Or alternatively, I thought: Because this part was so hard and maybe Laggy, Dev just cut it out completely). but thanks to you, I know more about this topic.

I don't think the space bar mashing is an rb5 specific glitch, it might just be an engine thing. I was messing around with an html5 remake of a game I played as a kid (Moto X3M) and the glitch was there as well. Might just be a coincedence but not sure.

Guys what about the cat easter egg in Level 2 of Red Ball 4 mobile? When you throw the wooden stick thingy near the end to the bottomless hole the game plays plays the "level replay" sound and the level background changes to a guy with a cat on a bed(? The bed isnt really visible). IDK but it would be obvious that its one of the devs of the mobile version

Its called "Vol. 4 Prune" on the iceberg slide because they pruned a segment from the boss in the fourth volume of Red Ball 4 mobile. The way that it's described needs to be brief so all of the other text on the image is able to fit.

In red ball hero on friv, if you press down or s at any point (even on water!), you will get imense downards speed. With that i beat level 19 almost under 6 seconds.
