Since the dawn of red ball speedrunning, people have been looking for ways to defeat red ball's pseudo-autoscroller, level 11. The level is extremely restrictive of red ball's movement, making it unlike any other level in the game, an unfortunate reality for red ball speedrunners. However, in 2020, a huge breakthrough was discovered in level 11 that saved over 7 seconds, in a world where mere fragments of a second being saved on any given level were a huge deal. This is the story of how this insane strategy became a reality. This is the story of sub 20 train.

Do you have any idea of how many times mario kart and bros speedrunners tried a single trick? Abney played choco mountain for 26k runs before he got triple weathertenko, someone (dont remember his name rip)did over 6k attempts ( and then kosmic got it in 9 tries) at 4:55 in mario bros. Arthur P did a lot of attempts at the rainbow road ultra shortcut before he got it.

I actually was grinding this game when it was just put on the apple App Store. It was buggy so I could get out of the first cart almost immediately and jump along the top of the platform, and make it to the flag before it went underground. I had no idea this games community was even a thing. It’s so cool to see it again with such passion. I might have to pick it up again:)
