It needs an update to cover that Trump himself caught COVID late September 2020, and secretly tested positive for it before his first debate with Biden. He was supposed to take a test on debate day at the venue but arrived too late. On October 2, Trump announced that he and Melania had tested positive. Barron tested positive later. After a few days, Trump was taken to Walter Reed Hospital and given Remdesivir (which few people could get) but NOT Hydroxychloroquine, which he had been telling people was both the cure and a preventative. During his hospital stay he decided he needed to show the public he was strong so he got in a closed car and let a masked Secret Service agent drive him around on parade even though he had not completed the quarantine period and was still contagious. Later he returned to the White House by Marine 1 (helicopter), walked up some stairs, removed his mask, made brief remarks, and went inside to potentially infect more people in there. Trump had likely caught COVID at a superspreader event to celebrate the installation of Amy Coney Barret to the Supreme Court. The 100 guest event was held outside in the Rose Garden followed by indoor events. Soon after that event several well-known attendees tested positive, including Chris Christie, KellyAnne Conway, Hope Hicks, Thom Tillis, and Mike Lee. Coney Barret didn't catch it in September because she had antibodies from her whole family having caught it previously in the summer.
