When Tupac and Biggie passed away, many thought that we will never again hear another hard and cutthroat gangsta rap. But in the late 90s the world heard DMX. Most of DMX's tracks are filled to the brim with feelings of anger and aggression, because these negative emotions haunted him his entire life. When he was just a kid, he endured severe beatings from his own mom. He also ended up in juvie. At just the age of 14, he tried weed and crack for the first time, and he was introduced to theft and a life of crime. All of this took a toll on his mental health from a very early age.

His life is a prime example of what toxic and abusive parents will do to kids. Ive watched it happen in my own family. How bad parenting will break a child’s spirit, will corrupt their youth, expose them to shit they shouldn’t be exposed to. I always said every kid deserves parents but every parent doesn’t deserve their kids. And I bet his mom and family probably felt like he owed them once he became famous, like they deserved forgiveness and gaslit him if he didn’t

I grew up with the late 90 mtv channel and dmx was a huge part of that - even though i couldn't understand english at that time as i was growing up in a german speaking country, I still felt connected to DMX music. Slippin' was and is still a song I cant even describe what I feel, when I hear it. @@ratbatnufftime2861You think money changes a childhood like the one he had? You show yourself not to have anyone around you who s struggling with this type of problem. Because if you did you would know it's not that easy, and by the time he had the 30whatever u say in his pocket, it was already too late. You don't understand drug addiction, you're not qualified to make such a statement. You also strike me as a sheltered, unsympathetic, incoherent person who lacks empathy and REAL friends. Based off the fact you felt you HAD to comment reveals more. I predict your attitude will render you unworthy of real love from peers, partners and others, wether that's now or later. I discovered X when I was a young teenager, full of rage and anger myself. I was heavily into weed and alcohol, black metal music and goth music at the time, but when I heard his songs, in particular the real dark ones like "Damien 1, 2 and 3" I knew that I had found a kindred spirit. I have always likened him to the rap industry's version of a black metal artist, in that he can express his rage and vulnerabilities like no other. His music truly saved me through some dark times, and I will forever hold a special spot in my heart for him. May he finally be at peace.

@NastyFuhk "Hurt people, hurt people" Much like "abused children" I'm sure you can understand my meaning, tend to "pass it on" to other children when they are adults. I can't give a reason why it happens, but it's very common. Not a justification either. I've got a little girl and a little boy I'm willing to kill for to protect.

I got into hip-hop when I started high school in 2001. Ludacris, Dr.Dre, and DMX were at the forefront. DMX's signature voice and flow never left me. It's only in the last year I've found out how hard he had it and how badly in debt he was. Very sad tale for someone so extremely talented. There is no more authentic artist you can find like this anymore. Not happy to hear about the animal abuse though. Not sure what that's about, I know he loved his dogs, but I assume he wasn't mentally able to take care of them.

I feel kinship with him when he speaks about his past. My grandma protected me from my parents also. The memories of my upbringing still f*** me up, and proof of that is that I started using drugs as soon as I discovered them. Still do, just now I use safer ones. Unfortunately, DMX had more resources for them so it damaged him on a much higher level. I respect him most for his openness on hard subjects, and for the fearlessness to expose the entertainment industry. It's because of X that I started looking into it. Thank you for making this video.

Lord give me a sign was the song I wld play before I drive my car. I saw him at Woodstock 99 and he had a million ppl barking and knowing all his songs at a mostly heavy rock festival. The flesh of my flesh, blood of my blood album was 1 of my favorite album and Slippin hit in the heart of all good kids. The day he passed away I was devastated for like a mth frfr but when I saw his funeral I was like he FINALLY got the respect he deserved and I think Jay Z had something to do with his death!! 6 #1 albums straight NOONE has ever done. The industry destroyed his name bc he wldnt sell his soul n spoke of Jesus Christ n his love for him. The industry don't like that n even though he wld do drugs he was sober n clean doing sermons at the end of his life. It was when covid started and IDC what anyone says he had 2 movie coming out, a album, a cologne etc and found out he gave up his catalog to Jay Z to get him money in advance an he died? RIP X Babyyyyy you are missed n loved FOREVER 💙🙏✝️❤
