However he was a truly great leader, Emperor and Politician and especially good at the boring stuff of feeding the masses and putting the best people in the right places.

For example, Alexander the Great attacked the Persians with no provocation from them. There are many other cases in history like this.

The idea of recalling the retired Sultan Murad to the throne came not from Mehmed II, who was still a young lad, but from his old and wise Sadr- Azam Çandarlı Halil Paşa. As is well known, Mehmet II had Çandarlı Halil executed following the capture of Constantinople, primarily as a result of rumors spread by his rivals alleging that he took bribes from Byzantium to dissuade the Sultan from invading the city. Well the Sieg of Plevne was probably the most important battle in the Russo-Turkish war that at the same time was the independence war for many balkan countries. After 2 failed attacks the russians asked Romania for help and the King send a romanian army and took control over the romanian-russian contingent, starting a Sieg around Plevna cuting it from food, ammunition etc. An failed attempt of breaking the Sieg failed and the ottoman general Osman Pasha was wounded. Finally he surrended with his troops to the romanian general commander of the troops in Plevna, Mihail cherchez to whom Osman Pasha handed his sword and declared himself prisoner of war.

I agree and support you here, but in the past these had to happen, for religion or not, if you don't kill and grow, they will kill you. I can say that this thought is valid for today. I wish there were no wars, but unfortunately, even today, developed countries such as Russia and Ukraine are fighting for their own interests (I do not blame Ukraine because it is Russia that started the war). There are still wars in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, and thousands of innocent children and civilians are harmed unjustly. I mean, wars will end when man realizes that he will live without destroying his son (unfortunately, I don't think that will ever happen 😔)
