One of my friends had a run-in with him right before he was arrested. She was home alone and he came knocking on the door. She didn’t answer, I’m not sure if she will be a life today if she did. He lived near her.

There are 2 Canadian cases I find really interesting, and they’re both quite recent so there’s tons of info available. Robert Pickton - fed his victims to his pigs, he is the inspiration for most modern fiction that feeds corpses to pigs to destroy evidence 2019 Manitoba Man-hunt - two young men left home together and killed people seemingly at random, disappeared for a while, and were assumed to have been eaten by bears before their corpses were found. It was in the news A LOT last year, hourly updates etc, and their motive was never determined. Love the new host! :)

This is a long shot, but my great uncle Louis T. Mackessy went missing off of a cruise ship near Bermuda in the 1935. It's still a cold case and it would be so cool if you could look into it. You have way more resources than I do. Basically he left for a cruise sometime in September, 1935. He was on a cruise called the Champlain. He apparently left all of his baggage laid out neatly on his bed in his room on the ship. He was a lawyer from Elizabeth, New Jersey. I have tried so hard to find police reports or anything at all and have found nothing. It bothers me so so much that we don't know what happened. I just want his memory to stay alive and give him some honor in knowing how he died. Could he have faked his death and lived on an island somewhere?? Literally so many questions. His mom and brother never cancelled his phone number hoping he would someday call, and she would go out looking for him every single day, roaming around hoping she'd see his face. Both are now gone unfortunately, but it would be incredible to find out what happened to him...

I've been reading true crime for a while now, yet I still get so frustrated at how incompetent the investigators/police can be. At least with this one, they started paying attention. Can't help but feel like several of these women would still be alive if the police had acted faster.

So Aria is a nice guy, covers internet killers and people thought that he was a serial killer. SUSPICIOUS

I wonder if they got to keep the "adopted' daughter though

Thank you for reminding everyone that the internet is not responsible for monsters. It's just another part of life they might use, and another part of life we need to be careful on. I think it's easy to blame technology and science for horrors like these. But I think technology and science more likely helps us catch criminals and find evidence of their crimes. A blessing and a curse. I hope he never gets out.

This case has always intrigued and terrified me as a person who was born in 1985, in a hospital in KC... and who was adopted. I strongly sympathize with Tiffany/Heather and her circumstances as well as what was horribly taken from her.

I can remember 2004 and 2005 there were messages circulating yahoo chat about this guy usually with a link to a website about him. It was kinda like a PSA for folks to be real careful online. It really opened a lot of peoples eyes on the actual safety of the internet.

I would love an overview of like 10 people who have gone missing online

As someone who is actually from Kansas. The accents vary depending on where you live in the state. Big indicator is most Kansans I know pronounce “pen” like “pin” and if we bump into something or get spooked we go “Ope”

I have a very personal connection to this case. Catherine Clampitt was my mother’s aunt, and she was living with my mother and her family at the time of her disappearance. I found out about this when we were going through family photos. I came across a picture of a young Asian woman, and since my family is white I naturally had some questions. Catherine and her sister were adopted from Korea by my great grandparents. They actually told me that my middle name came from her. My grandpa and his wife and children were living in Kansas City while they were living in Texas. Catherine came to Kansas City to live with her brother, my grandpa, while she tried to save money to get a new start. When she went missing, my grandpa felt extremely guilty for letting something like that happen to her, even though he had no way of preventing it. He did everything he could to try and find out what had happened to her, and he suspected Robinson had something to do with it for many years before he was caught because of emails he had found between the two. Many years later, Robinson confessed that he had killed her, but he was never charged with her murder, as her remains have yet to be found. Thank you for covering her story. May everyone else involved in this case find peace.
