I have a Marauders headcanon, please read the whole thing before judging my Harry Potter fan type, and if you see a part of *your* headcanon this *is* made of some of the other headcanon I’ve seen over the years, and a little bit of my own. The Marauders would always switch turns taking care of Harry when the others had order business, and each time they would hand Harry off to the next caretaker and they would always say “Your it, good luck!” This particular night James and Lily were going on a date night, Peter was already doing things for Voldemort (although the rest of the group didn’t know what he was doing) and Remus had order business. So it was Sirius and Harry, everything was going well in the day time, then Sirius put Harry to bed. In the morning Lily, James, and Remus came back home (Peter wasn’t done yet) and they heard Harry screams and crys from his room. They immediately thought of Voldemort, this wouldn’t be the first time Sirius let something happen on his watch (Last time Sirius accidentally wrapped Harry in James’s invisibility cloak before bed and it took hours to find him in the morning) So they pulled out their wands still listening intensely, when they heard Sirius laughing in the same room, his usual short bark-like laugh, they put 2 and 2 together and figured Sirius was doing something to Harry, so Remus quickly sent a pantronus to Dumbledore explaining what they heard. And then they charged into the room with Sirius’s laughing and Harry’s screaming, and saw Sirius leaning over Harry’s bed with his wand pointed at Harry, still laughing histaricaly while Harry continued screaming. They all immediately shot stunning curses at Sirius, if he hadn’t ducked in time the 3 curses could have killed him considering it was 3 fully grown and very powerful wizards who shot them. Sirius wasn’t hurt but he had dropped his wand in surprise, while Remus swooped down to pick up Sirius’s wand, and Lily went and checked on Harry, James’s wand was spitting out snake-like cords that wraps themselves around Sirius’s ankles, wrists, and mouth. James ripped the cords off of Sirius’s mouth and put his want to his throat, while demanding to hear what Sirius had been doing to Harry and why he had seemed so Happy to be doing it. Remus and Lily were whispering about him being a spy, or just like the rest of his family. Sirius exclaimed “Bloody hell! I can hardly breathe with your wand like that James, check the last spell I did you lunatic!” James went over to Remus to get Sirius’s wand to check his last spell and so Lily went forward and put the ropes back on Sirius’s mouth and held him down while Sirius was rolling his eyes. James whispered “Prior Incantum.” While pointing his wand at Sirius’s wand. When James saw the spell Sirius had been using Lily demanded “Well, what was he doing to Harry?! Tell me James!!” While still tightening her grip on Sirius’s arm to hold him down. James rushed over to Sirius and said “Lily! Your holding his arm so tight I wouldn’t be surprised if it fell off!” And pried Lily’s hand off Sirius’s arm, and began untying him. Lily still demanding to know what Sirius had been doing. Sirius was thanking James for untying him when Lily pulled James aside and asked what Sirius was doing and why on *earth* James had untied him. James quietly whispered as though ashamed of it “Tickling charm.” While Sirius had a smug look on his face as though he had just won a fight or something. Everyone was apologizing to Sirius for thinking he had been doing something else when Remus remembered something. “We have a problem.” Remus blurted out. “I sent a Patronus to Dumbledore saying the words ‘Harry screaming. Sirius is laughing. Come help quick.’” Remus said incredibly fast. At that moment- CRACK- Dumbledore Apparated and, incredibly like James, tied up Sirius again, pulled the ropes off his mouth, put his wand to his throat, and demanded to know what Sirius has been doing to Harry. “Two words, Tickling. Charm.” Sirius said irritated. Dumbledore had a look of embarrassment on his face while James untied Sirius. Dumbledore apologized and Remus explained that he wasn’t thinking when he sent that Patronus. Years later Sirius, Remus, and Dumbledore laughed about it while in Grimauld place, and Harry (now in his 5th year of Hogwarts) listening in with Fred and George’s extendable ears.
