You can spend the little rainbow things in the upgrade menu just under the gold coin on the left side. I got a little frustrated just watching him ignore the rainbows, they unlock some powerful upgrades.

how does he always end up not seeing the alternate upgrade tabs in games like these

People who enjoy watching him ( like me) must enjoy the pain of watching him miss the obvious things infront of him that could make things a lot easier

I love that DF either breaks a game with their efficiency or they completely miss a critical mechanic. There is no in between 😂

And this is a prime example of DF, extreme planning and patience. Enough to beat and make any game bend to whatever whims he wishes And yet for the whole video he didn't see the very obvious tab to spend the extra currency making the game harder for himself. Truly majestic

By the way, the store where you can spend those rainbow things is a tab on the left side, there are two tabs that go down the left side of the upgrade screen. I assume you already noticed it in editing but if not, I hope this helps.

DF always finds a way to grind past without using special items, like those rainbow gems. Btw incase your reading this it was the second tab in the buying menu in the left. Idk how DF beats every game and at the end realises he missed a core part of the game that would've made it much easier

The fact that the option for the rainbow upgrades is actual; soo obvious and the amount of times he mentions that he can not see it makes me think that the not seeing the obvious thing is just a ploy DF is using to keep people engaged and watching his videos in the hope he finally spots it. You cant hover the mouse that close to the solution multiple times and not see it.

When you open the upgrade menu theres a tab near the top left with the rainbow stuff

The upgrades with the rainbow stuff are in another tab of the upgrade menu. Yoj can switch tabs by opening the upgrade menu and clicking in the rainbow stuff symbol in the upper left corner.

"I don't know what these rainbow ores do yet." Like in every idle or any other game, doesn't find out there's a super upgrade tab. I'm sure he will learn. Spoiler: he doesn't.

What's funny is on the upgrade menu on the left side is a second tab with rainbow ore on it. I'm guessing that's where you spend it. Everytime he opens it up I'm like " he's going to see it this time".

To be honest DF, i didn't see the tab on the left for the rainbows either until i looked at the comments half way through the video. Hahaha. I think what happened was that it blended into the black wall sort of, as for the rainbow, im sure you would get use to the various stone colors in your bag that those colors are overlooked.
