The emphasis from these was placed on the plundering of the Irish people (with their misguided consent) and the detaching of the Roman Church from the usual tribal obligations to the people of the tribe and of the land; the Irish people.
This atrocious act plunged Ireland into an almost thousand year dark age of poverty and ignorance, which we are barely climbing out of now, if at all.
