True, I agree to an extent. The main world is small, BUT we got illnesses, three active careers with their own “areas” to walk around, the ability to own a retail store and sell almost anything, magnolia promenade, sixam, a new life state (our first occult), CAS/buildbuy stuff, and two new skills as a starting point for £29.99. Then three years later they gave us get famous which had a small world, one new career, one “area” lot, celebrities and their “quirks”, and not much else for gameplay. A lot of the CAS/buildbuy was to a very specific style that isn’t versatile to use with other packs. I think all things considered, they did great releasing get to work as the first expansion. I feel people would have been so much more disappointed if get famous came first or something.

The one empty lot is actually a great spot to start a legacy or such on. But yep...too small, no reason to really visit it.

@@yazplatt I was going to say that the celebrity system isn't like something simple, and then remembered that one of the high level perks, to make a lifestyle brand, just straight up crashes my game 😂😂 and generally seems to have had bugs throughout the pack's existence for many players. Get to Work has had some issues, but nowhere near that bad

I love the Detective career. Have played it to max level twice. Last time was the 9th gen heir of my main fam (they are on 14 now). She had a thing for older men and kept trying to start romances with older coworkers but they kept dying on her. Finally had triplets with Santa.

The funniest part of Get To Work is that giant baby birth machine in the hospital. The animations for it really fits into the quirky-ness of the Sims series overall. xD (P.S, I really like your hair and sweater, Jesse! ^-^)

everyone always ranks get to work to low in their rankings & i never understood why. i use its objects everytime i build community lots, we got 3 fully indulged careers, the ability to own our own retail businesses which u can do sm with, the ability to actually go shopping for realism, and an entire occult? aliens?! with their own secret world?! get to work was that girl, she gave sm.

Your best bet when playing detective is to get lots of extra clues: Witness reports, fingerprints, and photos are all good. (Photos and reports are easiest; you don't have to use the analyzer, which takes a bit of time.) The more clues you have, the more detailed the description of the perp, and the less likely you are to arrest the wrong person.

They changed the notebook location with the Cottage Living update, it should be next to Sim's phone now. It's the same place where you check fish baits or plants for gardening or animal treat recipes

I love the detective career. It's glitchy sometimes (especially with seasons installed as they change their outfits and it doesn't match the suspect description) but so much fun

The interrogation part of the detective career is hilarious. When I discovered it I actually let out an “EEEEeeee!” 😹 Also super weird but the outfit that male detectives wear in the game made me realise I totally have a thing for it 😳 (and I just got to the part where you’re thirsting over them too HAH I feel less weird now.)

Honestly, the make-up in Get to Work makes a lot of sense when you realize it's for the aliens. It's fun to give them weird make-up and pretend that that's the fashion at Sixam. Like, because all their clothes look the same the only way they can stand out is having the boldest eyeshadow or most ridiculous blush or whatever.
