I really love how when the cursing is just casual conversation ("I can't piss for shit right now"), it's not bleeped, but it is bleeped when it's part of an insult ("You piece of shit") - the words aren't what need to be censored; it's the intent that matters. It's ... a subtle touch.

This skit made me realize a few things. Your friends are the ones who feel comfortable enough attempting to piss on your fence (with permission). Your friends and neighbors will react to any yard activity with annoyance, interest, and / or criticism. And despite how inadequate you might feel doing basic human stuff like digging holes, it's important to have the support of others. Thanks, Joel. I'm writing a short guide to humanity in case of an alien invasion and I'll be sure to include these notes.

This makes me so nostalgic for my childhood. I had a couple friends in my neighborhood and sometimes when we got together we didn't know what else we could do, so we grabbed our favorite shovels and got to digging. one time it was a 3 week project, we dug out an entire underground bunker with little rooms about 7 feet underground. it eventually collapsed, but thankfully no one was inside when that happened because it was storming real bad. I'll never forget the hole that became bunker. we continued digging holes, but as times change, so do people. some of us found greater things, some didn't want to dig anymore, and me, well, by the end it was just me... I still think about getting back out there and digging one more hole, just for old time's sake and to remind myself of where it all starts, just you, a shovel and the dirt, with the hope that a guy will show up with a shovel and start digging with you. I just don't think I have it in me anymore. But times change, and so do people, so maybe one day when I'm old I'll find that passion again, and maybe some other old guy will see me and smile, saying something I can't fucking understand because he's too far away, and we'll dig a hole together.

I remember me and my friends, building a shelter out of wood planks. We didn't even know how they'd gotten there, they were just sitting there in some park and one night we decided to start building. We had tried making a tent, but what we didn't understand was that the wooden planks weren't gonna hold themselves, we would've had to dig them in the ground however, we were building this on top of an abandoned cargo, the planks could've fallen on our heads at any time, on top of that it was windy and slightly raining. So the next day, we stacked up planks and started building, it was on our way home from school, next to some park. There was a whole lot of gravel, the whole place was completely useless, it was just like a street full of gravel and a bit of dirt, we'd ride on our bikes and fall on our asses. Anyway, after stacking the planks we tried making a sign using duck tape and paper we'd brought from someone's house, along with a stick dug in the ground, that sign didn't last long because, the day after that it was completely broken. My friend's brother started helping us out, he'd use stuff he found from a recycling bin that was close, he'd hung a poster of a random girl from some ad, and set up a "bed". That summer was probably one of the best in my entire life, we had put so much effort into this and getting really close, turns out one day we came back and found our shelter missing, I think the planks we used was actually meant for the construction of a new part of the neighborhood, because as time went by they started digging this huge hole. We actually went in there one day, there was a little hole in one of the walls that kept people from coming inside, one of us stayed in there, he got caught by one of the construction crew, and apparently almost fell inside the big ass hole, luckily they didn't call the police on him. But as the years go by, I find myself distancing from these friends, these people I thought I'd stick by with for the rest of my life, I'm still in touch with them and close to some of them, but unfortunately life has separated us. I have absolutely no idea why I wrote this, I guess your comment made me nostalgic and I felt like I needed to write it down. Btw the punctuation isn't very good.

@@JustSomeAussie1 It's right up there with (usually the same people) hastily starting a sentence (usually interrupting someone else) only to get 3-4 words into what they want to say before having a Jeff-Goldblum-attack in the middle of the sentence, making grunting and blubbering sounds, struggling to articulate the thought that couldn't wait until the other had finished speaking. It's probably the most extreme manifestation of what i call the american stutter pattern. A lot of americans specifically seem to have stutters and hangups while speaking. Often repeatimg words or entire half-sentences several times before completing them or interjecting with the first word of a sentence into someone elses speech and then repeating it several times, while apparently still forming the sentence. I'm not going to speculate on why that is or if i'm just seeing patterns that aren't there, but if one person or a group of people between them complete the set of the stutter pattern and the like-abuse, it becomes impossible for me to listen to them without clenching my buttcheeks the entire time. (notable offenders: The Chapo Trap House podcast. Jesus H.Christ, it's infuriating.)
