Couple details that I love and felt are worth mentioning: -The teeth thief is in the EXACT same clothes as the father -The father installed a night vision camera in the son's room for some reason -The teeth thief knows he's being recorded and plays to the camera -The teeth thief is definitely NOT the father.

Gawd, I can't believe I get a chance to tell this story. My cousin lost a tooth, so his dad told him to put it under his pillow so the tooth fairy could come, take the tooth, and leave something for him. He'd just reached the age where he would understand what was being said and that was as far as his dad explained. He'd go upstairs, we thought to go to bed, but then kept bringing his tooth back to his dad; and his dad couldn't figure out why. Every time he'd come back downstairs with the tooth, my uncle would shoo him back upstairs to put it back under his pillow. He started back down the stairs and his dad was about to get heated but then he dropped the tooth on the table and said, "Here dad, you keep it, I don't believe I want that fellar in my room..." It's still a treasured family story. My cousin always was kind of dense, poor guy.

I like that the Teeth Thief is introduced as an eldrich horror, a force of nature, something you can't protect yourself against and that you have to come to terms with. And then it's just a tooth-obsessed cat burglar.

The Teeth Thief is just an excuse for the dad to hurt his son

Ah. I remember these dreadful times back when I was a wee lad. The third tooth I lost I successfully repelled this crook. I forged armor in the shape of a tooth from cardboard and mother's stock of aluminum foil. I took arms with my father's pipe wrench, perfect for removing a huge tooth. This was a fight that was fought with clenched teeth, but I won, and still have that third lost tooth to this day. However, I was grounded for using the items I did and scolded pretty hard. Was told I should have just let the teeth thief do his job.

The funniest skits often don't have the most views.
