I think the aim of a general player is not to reach the end of the game, rather it is to enjoy the journey and try out new armies, playing war and enjoying the social part of the game. During this journey their bases progress along with the game and new stuff keeps coming out which keeps everybody entertained....

yeah true, i think the aim is just to have fun while progressing trough the game, reach different levels and stages of the game, fail hard at some attacks, get up and get going again.

Yeah but that becomes hard when you literally need heroes for the fun part but if you want to keep enjoying the fun part then you have to upgrade heroes and by the time that's done......well will you look at that the base is almost max.......a few weeks of attack is the reward for months of grind, and then you upgrade to new TH and repeat!

the social aspect of CoC has long been dead. most clans i've been in, people rarely talk unless it's with someone they personally know. people usually just leave troop request and rarely respond to any chat.

Hey Jo, I started following the free to play series when i first hit townhall 10 back in 2020. It really makes me happy to know I had you to look up to while I was on my own journey through the game. Even though I have been hopping off and on throughout the years, I am currently midway through th13 and your series is really the only reason I haven't given up on the game altogether. @@modelname I know but if you farm fast enough to keep them upgrading non-stop, heroes take 4 months and 5 days total at TH12; you just have to be patient, active and commit 3 builders.

Ah no! Don't stop the series! It is really fun to see you make real progress, cause it is way more relatable than all the UKpostsrs spending 100s of dollars on packages. It is really possible to max, and you're very close. Th 14 took you less than a year, so your gaining time on the new townhall release (every 1,5 year). I played coc for more than 8 years f2p before I was maxed, but now with my th15 all maxed there is no fun left. Goldpass is overrated, f2p all the way. 😉

@@Dan-ek5oc I find it more rewarding, and at this point it is a principal thing. I was maxed when th14 came and if you do your 8 attacks in legend, you can max a new townhall easily within a year f2p. Maxed gameplay isn't really that fun, so I hope they come with additional upgrades for the home village soon.

I have been following this series since you were at th 11 Jo...I'm a th 14 right now (about 80% maxed)... And i can easily feel how you are feeling right now... the "burn outs" are the reason why people are preferring "Strategic Rushing" these days...but to honest I think...the *fully maxed account* is still in your reach Jo...as th 15 is released in October and following the 18 month pattern...there is still almost an year left for th 16 ...so give it a final push you are almost there😭🔥

Pretty awesome recap video of your channel over the years! I gotta say, one of the ways that's helped me avoid burnout as a F2P player is having one account where I max everything before progressing (currently TH13) and then a second account where I rushed to level 5 TH15 and now I'm trying to fix the rush by upgrading my heroes, defenses, etc. It's been pretty fun hopping back and forth between the two, and I've really enjoyed your content over the years to help keep me motivated.

I came to your free to play series somewhere mid the th10 series and it always kept me motivated, beeing about a month behind you with the progress. With some traps and pets not finished I went to th15 last month not having spended a single cent. So I need to correct you there. It is possible to do it all f2p if you really love the game. For myself I created a rushed Account to keep myself entertaining because I wanted to experience the New Updates and it felt frustrating that there was less new content for lower Townhouses. This played out very well for me. The traditional way of maxing each townhall is definetly way slower than rushing, as you can use those books and Hammers of building on buildings with 20 days of upgrade time instead of 3 days. But it definetly is an experience to really play through every th from Start to finish and seeing how strategies develop from each stage to another 😊

I am at town hall 15 with a maxed laboratory and almost maxed all pets, my hereos are maxed and i got almost every building maxed all free to play. The walls are kind of a pain to max but eventually I will get them. I started playing back then on my old iPad and its incredible to see how my base and the whole game evolved. I am so excited for the new Builder Base v2 update and looking forward for more f2p series videos. Love your content Jo😁

I do agree that it is almost impossible to max out f2p because clash keeps expanding to new levels. If it was finished then yeah at some point you would max out. You would need to farm gems as well as farm the other stuff. To me it’s like the tortoise and runner paradox but with a expanding race track.

I was a th10 when watched your series. It helped me so much with all your videos and motivated me to continue playing the game. Even though i burned out and left just do the updates and leave. Collect loot from gold mine and elixir pump upgrade if i can then leave. Now i am th12 Max. Maybe i would have been th14 if i didn't quit game and just upgrade the building with the power of pumps and mine 🎉

If you're f2p, consider rushing when the game becomes grindy. You can get to the max level and fully max your offense, but with horrible defense. Because most people don't really pay attention to defense anyway, strong offense makes the regular attacks fun. Wars will be bad though.

I’ve been playing free play for 8 years and I’m nearly max TH 15. I have 17 more upgrades left. It seems every time I max there’s an update shortly there after thus increasing the reason to play!

Thing is, the way the amount of time per town hall level increased, and the fact that it seems clear that Supercell is not going to stop adding new town hall levels, it seems mathematically inevitable that maxing a base f2p will become impossible. At some point the time to max a new th f2p is going to take longer than the 18 month period between new town hall levels being added.

I think that they will make time reductions to the lower levels when the new town hall levels are added. The amount of time I spend to max TH8 was about 100 days back in 2019. But now its like 60-70 days. The total amount of time to max a town hall level should be less than 18 months because supercell adds new town hall levels every 18 months. In order to fully max TH15 it takes 7 months 27 days with 6 builders. Lab time is 10 months 22 days.

Gold pass really helps a lot, i upped from max th13 to th14 when the th15 update came out and was thinking of rushing directly towards th15. But I've never rushed my base during my time playing. So i decided to stay with th14 and max it out first. Now its like 6 months later and the only thing i have left to max are 100 walls from th13 to th14.

Been playing on and off since 2013, currently th12 and the reality is you do have to put some money into the game, ive never gemmed to upgrade things but those $5 passes have been incredibly helpful in progression

when I started playing, most I saw youtuber gemming to max and yea f2p will never make it, but after some came across this channel. I actually started playing as it seems to have fun with these method . thank you jo ❤

I am not F2P, and I’ve been playing since TH10 was the newest TH, and I’m still only TH13. Granted, I took about 5 years off, and have some weeks that I’ve not really played, but still, I must be doing something wrong if a F2P is a TH14 and I’m still lagging behind. Great video!

thanks for your video. i played back then then quit, then played again when i heard th 14 released and suprised that they upgrade your base while you afk, then i realize i cant commit my time to raid loot etc in time to max my gold and elixir then quit again...theres some itch to play again but knowing you finish 4 years to complete that's f2p while playing everyday sealed my commitment to not to. its just better to put the time elsewhere that i find fun and new

Yeah man I just got the th14. I didn’t do the walls and most dark elixir upgrade in lab cause it truly does get burnt out. With them taking the raid medals to 1 a week, it truly makes it even harder.

Startes my big acc as f2p 3 years ago now im about to be max th 12. And tbh best way not to get tired of this game as f2p is just to have smaller acc but rushed and devote to max it. I have rushed th 10 that im getting closer to maxing. It rly helps to keep playing.

I was a fully maxed town hall 14 when that was the max and then I quit. I was free to play but it was such a grind.

You have a higher level than me but my army is now almost max in th15, because I rushed my townhall, this allowed me to get the best value for magic items and avoid getting bottlenecked in upgrades. It's much useful to use magic items on 18 days+ upgrades then just using research potion for the lower level upgrades

Every time I make it to a new town hall they come with a new one. I remember when town hall 10 came out and for a while it was the highest. I’ve been playing since 2013 and burn out is real. For a long time I just collected my pumps and mines and didn’t even attack. I have the 2013 Christmas tree and it’s worth more to me than my whole village 😂

i tried f2p but im impatient but respect to those that are! it’s a long grind and can only imagine the feeling on not spending anything and getting to the final halls!
