I’ve said it once. I’ll say it again. This girl had her entire brain chemistry changed by her psychotic mother. Poor Gypsy will never be able to recover. Her relationships will sadly suffer. This girl needs years and years of therapy. Her mother took away her growth, her independence, her thoughts, her autonomy, her emotional maturity. Everything. I pray she gets better. It will take many many many years. I truly wish her the best

Gypsy's mother was wrong and deserved to be punished but not murdered especially by her own daughter's will. I really do not believe everything that Gypsy says about what happened because she plotted her own mother's murder. By watching Gypsy she seems very smart so to me she could of went about this in a different way. Gypsy even admitted that she was wrong and should have went about this in a different way. So why are they putting her on a pedestal? Now it is too late. Gypsy is far from a hero and I believe that by having her own these shows that it is sending the wrong message period. Gypsy knew what she was doing and she got away with it. Now there is someone that is deceased by her that can't be forgiven only Gypsy can be forgiven. Gypsy served 8 years her mother is never coming back.

Haven't most people who have committed heinous crimes been abused in childhood? Why does she get sympathy when so many other people in prison don't?

It’s wonderful to see her being able to move on after all she went through! She was really tortured her whole childhood and she deserves a second chance!

Its an example of how people are forgetting that she had her boyfriend murder her mother. Joy was busy consoling a victim ,and she forgot how the victim escapes.

So good to see that Gypsy has become an advocate for people dealing with a situation like hers. She is an amazing public speaker. This interview really showed how much she has grown as a person and as someone who has a promising future. I'm sure there are people out there who wanted Gypsy to get the death penalty and who do not believe in giving people second chances. Gypsy has served her time and now she is free to move on with her life. Hopefully everyone else will be able to move on with theirs rather than spend their time creating virtual scarlet letters and trying to sew them onto people they deem unworthy and permanently stained for life.

Why is a murderer becoming famous? I am confused.

I think that Gypsy conveniently skims over the fact that she had her mother murdered and that person is still behind bars. She’s not a woman that should inspire or teach anyone anything in my opinion. She has been unduly abused by a sick woman and she should be out of jail, but so should her boyfriend who she compelled to kill DeeDee because he wouldn’t have done it were it not for her. Heis slow. The fact that she married her prison pen pal doesn’t make her a “mature” woman and the fact that she married her prison pen pal is at odds with her so called maturity.

She could have just run away. There was no reason to murder her mother. I’m shocked most people fail to see this.

She had her .mentally ill mother brutally murdered & she was in the next room while her autistic boyfriend was killing her all a while screaming for Gypsy to save her. Gypsy could have saved her & she didn't & listened to her own mother brutally getting stabbed to death. She should still be in prison.

Yes, she's come a long way, but she still has a long way to go. Things changed..."I'm married.". Yes, hon. You've been married less than a week. 🙄 She's only had therapy in prison, of which prisons don't get the best counselors. She sounds like she was counseled by a substance abuse counselor, which is who prisons primarily hire for counseling. My point is, she still has issues. I'm glad her husband is a great guy, by appearances. But courting in prison isn't the same as courting irl. There's something still not right when you marry someone straight out of prison, after growing up in prison. She literally searched for a caretaker, as that's what she's used to. Just because she lucked out (most likely) with not marrying a psycho, the fact that she didn't allow herself time to recover outside of prison, and reestablish her relationships with her father and siblings, should be of concern. It's very unlikely that there's someone she's met in prison who had a parent with classic Munchausen by Proxy. She's probably met a few with a parent with a subtype of Munchausen by proxy, but not as unique as hers. And not all in prison want to get well, So it's not likely she befriended anyone who could possibly relate. I also noticed how vague she was in her interviews. So, she's still guarding against something. I'm glad she wants to be an advocate. I just hope she doesn't think she's okay now. As a survivor myself, I can tell her a thing or two about denial and bullshitting oneself. I think I know why she avoided living with her family for awhile. She doesn't completely forgive her father, plus the awkwardness of feeling that the reason why he didn't fight to protect her was because he moved on. Plus, not knowing any other way to live other than being dependent on another person. I just hope she stays in therapy, and that when she has kids, that she doesn't backpedal by trying to put her kids on TV. Her mother enjoyed getting attention not just from her healthcare providers, but making her famous on TV. Most people knew about her from daytime talk shows, years before she and that boy killed her. She had a cute voice, and could have been the voice of the next "Duckie". Instead of making voice recordings to send to Disney, mom instead did the unthinkable. The best way for Gypsy to recover is if the media and the public leaves her alone after the hype over her docu-series runs its course, so she can work on herself and to advocate. Giving her this much attention constantly may give her the false impression that she's recovered and all will be okay. Not hardly. Recovery from cPTSD is a part of our lifework.

This reminds me of the another girl who had her boyfriend kill her mother while on vacation in Bali the boyfriend got life in prison in Bali, she got only 7 years in Bali prison her luck ran out and she was extradited back to US and they added multiple charges on her to keep her locked up even though it’s double jeopardy.

Gypsy Rose supplied Nick her then boyfriend a knife while Gypsy hid in the bathroom. Nick stabbed her mother 17 times in the back while she was asleep. Her mother had problems and I believe they were psychological but she didn't deserve death by being bloody murdered. Oh that, this is what "Oh that" was. I agree her life was really messed up on many more levels than one, but I don't understand the different levels of guilt between her and her then boyfriend. They were both guilty. They were both equally wrong, yet he is still in prison. The fact that all of this feels so wrong doesn't take away my sympathy for her in any way, this all just feels very wrong how she is all over the media now. It's too much and feels glamorized. I mean maybe they didn't mean for it to be that way, but it's heading in that direction. If you could ask her ex, I wonder what he feels about all of this.

She was abused beyond belief. She has served her prison sentence and while incarcerated she accomplished important life's goal . She was a child that throughout her childhood was severely mentally and physically abused . She was not raised with wrong , right or bad , good . She was raised believing her life was normal for a chronically ill child . From birth to her mother's murder she never understood reality . There is no excuse to murder. Murder is the highest crime . Taking the life of another human being is as serious as it gets . Due to chronic abuse through out her childhood she does deserve a chance in life . To be a productive citizen. Although, she needs on going professional help. There are no more chances .

Any mother that does this to there child has a severe MENTAL ISSUE our 7 yr old was diagnosed with cancer osteosarcoma and we would have done anything for him not to suffer the way he did 😭😭after 3 yrs of chemo leg amputation and other operations he did in my arms at home 😭😭 so I have a huge problem with anyone doing that to there child 😡😡
